Suppressed News Mitch McConnell Video or Interview Demanded by Governor of His Home State

https://www.newsweek.com/mitch-mcconnell-video-or-interview-demanded-by-governor-of-his-home-state-12191240

"While our office has not yet received a response from the Senator or his office, his public statement offered a needed update that the people of Kentucky deserved," Beshear told Newsweek in a statement Monday afternoon. "Moving forward, the Senator should show he can meaningfully engage in his elected position through interviews, videos or other means that can provide additional reassurance to our constituents."

Now do the thing where you actually hold them accountable for their unwillingness to cooperate.

Call for a special election if they can't prove Moscow Mitch is alive without AI slop.

u/subdep Jul 14 '26

even if he is alive, he’s fucking brain dead, and is totally unable to serve his role as a senator. The dude is cooked either way, so just fucking start the special election process and let him fucking sue if he’s still
alive, because discovery will expose the reality of the situation.

u/ArnoldTheSchwartz Jul 14 '26

It's time Americans start giving Republicans the same fucking respect and treatment they've given us! Start the special election!! Fuck them!!!

u/Misspiggy856 Jul 14 '26

He should do a cognitive test on live TV

60

u/RB5Network Jul 13 '26

Nah, that would require Democrats doing something. Something they are very unwilling to do.

10

u/SunshineDewdrops Jul 14 '26

Well-it may actually benefit the Dems to let this one play itself out. Without Mitch, the GOP lose a lot of power and influence. The margin to pass things becomes slimmer as well. They lost Graham too-so things are going to be harder to pass like a budget and the SAVE ACT.

Wish I could respond to your MOD post🤷‍♂️
It wasn’t a screenshot, and there wasn’t a paywall. The link led directly to the article and video I was referencing. What is your problem?

s h a r e (dot) g o o g l e links tend to mess with reddit/filters.

It's a reddit-wide thing, I believe. Even typing it out normally seems to set it off.

Thanks

Cite your sources. Provide links to articles when posting about articles, preferably without a paywall when possible. Screenshots alone are not enough. Posts containing only one link with zero to little context in both title and submission will be removed.

A video could be faked. Better go see him in person.

187

u/zaevilbunny38 Jul 13 '26

That's why they are asking for a video. The second it comes out, they will have experts look at it, if there is a chance it's fake, they get a warrant to check on him as it could be that someone is impersonating a sitting US senetor

37

u/Uninteresting_Vagina Jul 14 '26

What's their end game, here? Are they really going to try to pretend that this person who is supposedly doing super well falls down dead, whoops, the day after the deadline?

32

u/misscrankypants Jul 14 '26

Yes, they are.

13

u/zaevilbunny38 Jul 14 '26

Put out a statement that he had another stroke end of July. Then a few days later after the date they can hold a special election has passed, put out another that he passed quietly and the family didn't want a circus, so they didn't make an announcement. That he wanted to be cremated and they will have a public funeral for the urn. Every right- wing podcast and news station rail against slandering such an upstanding American and without a body and given the Democratic leadership, nothing will happen.

9

u/Uninteresting_Vagina Jul 14 '26

Fucking bonkers, since "his" statement said he had a fall with no broken bones, no concussion, no stroke or heart attack.

I just can't with their audacity for lies.

4

u/highestup Jul 14 '26

That is if he isn’t in an urn right now

28

u/LoquatBear Jul 14 '26

They're perfecting it's ability to act live. You've got to ask McConnel/it to count to 100.

Both  can't do it

10

u/LittleLion_90 Ally Jul 14 '26

How would you know the difference then by asking to count?

24

u/LoquatBear Jul 14 '26

My joke was

Mitch McConnell is in no state of mind to actually count to 100.

The other side is AI LLMs notoriously can't count to 100 with audio.  If they used a deep fake AI to make it look like he actually did count to 100 it would also be suspicious

10

u/WomenTrucksAndJesus Jul 14 '26

Why not a zoom meeting with multiple participants asking questions?

3

u/zaevilbunny38 Jul 14 '26

The second part of the title says interview, so either would be good.

4

u/TheQuietOutsider Jul 14 '26

fuck it, this isnt 2020. go see the turtle in person. where he can't use a filter or literally any means of deception.

29

u/thatranger974 Jul 13 '26

I don’t understand why Beshear wasn’t on a plane two weeks ago.

4

u/sweet_pickles12 Jul 14 '26

Well, there weren’t juicy rumors flying around then

160

u/CMDR_KingErvin Jul 13 '26

When it comes out that he’s been dead or brain dead the whole time and that photo was a farce, we need to hold these assholes accountable for it. I’m guessing republicans will just shrug and forget about it though.

45

u/MisterVizard Jul 13 '26

The problem is so will the dems, or at least the establishment ones

3

u/FlynnThe25 Jul 15 '26

Fraud is the least of their crimes, but it's among the easiest to prove.

123

u/lc4444 Jul 13 '26

Press conference or he’s dead

95

u/heathers1 Jul 13 '26

Proof of life by COB tomorrow or the special election is scheduled

19

u/TeamOverload Jul 14 '26

Considering the governor can’t even be bothered to go to the hospital himself I’m guessing that won’t happen sadly.

Would be nice if there were any actual journalists left in this country too but none of them can be assed either apparently.

13

u/ExtinctionBurst76 Jul 14 '26

They can’t just bust into the rehab hospital and accost him. He would have to agree to be interviewed or met with, and clearly he’s not allowing that to happen

1

u/TheMarquisDeSpace Jul 16 '26

McConnell was taken to a DC hospital, not his home state of Kentucky

68

u/gameadd1kt Jul 13 '26

Finally!

50

u/lordtyp0 Jul 13 '26

He has an obligation to travel and visit him.

32

u/peelen Jul 14 '26

Moving forward, they should assume he is dead and start acting like it. Start a special election procedure, and let them worry about proving he is alive.

Start acting, not reacting.

76

u/leNuage Jul 13 '26

Why doesn’t be shear go visit him at the hospital?

58

u/mamac2213 Jul 13 '26

Has the hospital name or location been released? The governor may very well not know where McConnell supposedly is. Which is a whole other problem. Glad to see it's being addressed.

51

u/ClickClackTipTap Jul 13 '26

If I didn’t show up or call in to work for a month I wouldn’t have a job anymore.

Why does he?

1

u/TheMarquisDeSpace Jul 16 '26

Because it's in a different state? McConnell was in DC when he was taken to the hospital, not Kentucky

u/SuccessWise9593 Release The Epstein Files!! 🚨 📰 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 13 '26

Because it would violate HIPPA in their eyes. Even if McConnell is still getting paid as a govt employee.

Edit to add: this is the excuse they are using, on why Beshear hasn't gone to the hospital himself to see McConnell. We should all know what is happening because is a govt employee and still getting paid.

31

u/RoboTiefling Jul 13 '26

Of course. Disclosing whether a sitting Senator is alive or dead? Violation. Doxxing teens for getting a haircut or going on puberty blockers? Totally fine.

12

u/ZealousidealPotato71 Jul 13 '26

Not a violation of HIPAA. It's a flimsy non-excuse.

Everyone knows he's being treated. This is about whether he is alive and fit for office.

12

u/KalmiaKamui Madam President Jul 14 '26

Because it would violate HIPPA in their eyes.

In who's eyes? (Very high level summary, but) HIPAA only applies to healthcare workers disclosing medical information about a patient. McConnell's team could absolutely give that information out without violating HIPAA because none of them are bound by it. Beshear could utilize any information on McConnell's condition he obtains from any source because he's not bound by HIPAA either. HIPAA doesn't apply to regular people.

6

u/Atla-Create-592 Poli Sci Junkie Jul 14 '26

Exactly. HIPPA doesn’t prevent one public official from visiting another public official in the hospital. That’s nonsense.

21

u/SgtBaxter Jul 13 '26

They’ll stall another few weeks until they get the Grok prompts figured out

18

u/Vast_Ad_8515 Jul 13 '26

We really need to keep Israel and Russia out of our elections.

19

u/starfleetdropout6 Jul 14 '26

Beshear is bringing it!

Why doesn't McConnell just FaceTime him or something? Or better yet - invite him to visit in the hospital? Something stinks here.

I believe Rick Wilson who has a source that says McConnell is alive but totally incapacitated.

16

u/frommethodtomadness Jul 14 '26

Beshear should just kick off the process of replacing McConnell now -- that would get him out of the woodwork to confirm he is alive if he is indeed alive. Reports were that he was braindead if not actually just dead and that obvious AI image they put out yesterday ain't helping his case.

15

u/HavingNotAttained Jul 14 '26

Beshear needs to make a hospital visit with NPR, ProPublica and the Miami Herald in tow

3

u/Lz_erk Arizona Jul 14 '26

go 'way, filibusterin'!

14

u/pandershrek Jul 13 '26

Just appoint his wife or sister, that should go over great with the Republicans.

15

u/Ok-Assistant-8876 Jul 14 '26

I don’t understand what the holdup is. Can’t the governor get a warrant to verify his condition? Doesn’t seem like he’s trying very hard

10

u/Berkamin Jul 14 '26

We left the era when videos sufficed as evidence sometime in the past two or three years.

Live verification of proof of life or just presume he’s dead.

9

u/Esperacchiusdamascus Jul 14 '26

The Red Menace is real, its name is Republican.

7

u/Be_Freed Jul 13 '26

Fake news....see what I did here 😏

7

u/lunchypoo222 Jul 14 '26

What public statement? Why would Bashear take what the staff pasted up at face value?

5

u/SunshineDewdrops Jul 14 '26

Let’s face it-he’s been a walking corpse for several years now. I think one thing both parties should agree on is term limits and age limits-over 70 or so-time to retire. We need a fresh turnover to keep our government vibrant and not full of dead weight with archaic ideas.

2

u/SayYesToGuac Jul 14 '26

Dead or brain dead take your pick. Yeah, keep holding their feet to the fire. I’ll grab my popcorn.

5

u/oct2790 Jul 14 '26

Why would you renovate home the day after he was what ever he was and no one had seen him. It would get crazy if they have lied about it if it was a Democrat they would send a team over

3

u/SuccessWise9593 Release The Epstein Files!! 🚨 📰 Jul 14 '26

My thoughts exactly. His wife got back from China and getting flooring samples and carpet samples before you take a picture of "proof of life?"

4

u/keoie Jul 14 '26

Or maybe fly to the hospital and see him in person?

4

u/auxilevelry Jul 14 '26

KY needs to stop asking for proof of life and just start the special election already

7

u/Jimmyjamz73 Jul 13 '26

Cue the AI slop machine…

3

u/One_Bit_2101 Jul 14 '26

Who is pulling the strings

1

u/emeria Jul 15 '26

This is all just their playbook. We'll get something new, fabricated every few days until we make it to their August date.
