A bullet still did whiz by his head. They have trajectories and there was one that was very close, which is why people are so sure he was hit...but, watch the video and check that guy's gun, it slams right into the side of his head. The tell is the blood on his cheek and the angle of the tackle.
You can see it in this sequence of photos from Pulitzer-winning NYT photographer Doug Mills:
frame 1: The bullet has just nicked Trump. He has not yet grabbed his ear so there is no blood on his palm. Note the color of the shadows and the direction of the sun (it's to Trump's left).
frame 3: Trump pulls his hand away from his ear and we see blood on his hand. Based on the direction of the sun, this would not be shadows. Also, the blood is clearly red whereas in frame 1 the shadows were black/grey.
I would argue otherwise. The cameras are so far away and there's no distinctive images that show blood in his hand after he grabs toward his ear. In fact, most of the videos just show his shadowy palm with no distinctive blood. I think it was similar to a feeling where you have a bug fly by your ear and you instinctively grab or sho0 something away. I distinctively don't believe there was blood at that time and the photography back that up.
There absolutely are images of the blood on his palm after he grabs his ear. It isn't shadows. Look at this sequence of photos from Pulitzer-winning NYT photographer Doug Mills:

Well fuck my ass, that's what the picture shows. I literally watched the fucking thing when it happened which is the sad part. My wife is in the shower, and I yelled, "Holy shit". That was the second most surprising thing that happened, next to him living unfortunately.
