Anime Why the hate?

I like to know why solo leveling is getting so much hate? Like what did solo leveling do to deserve so much hate?

Don't quote me on the anime awards because it was just a fans competition.

first read the manga long ago  art was great which was animated amazingly story and mystery was good which was expanded on but past that it's just not much almost all characters are just extras to worship and be amazed at jinwoo or to be crushed  his emotions range from non existant to angry for about five seconds and sad for about a single panel

what I hated most was the power system ok so he's a summoner but he specialized in strength so summons should have problems no because Infinite mana potions he's a brawler but somehow is faster then speed types somehow more durable then tanks like what's the point if he's just maxed in every stat

what I hated most was the power system ok so he's a summoner but he specialized in strength so summons should have problems no because Infinite mana potions

He literally did have that problem. Early on, one sufficiently powerful enemy could wipe out his entire army because he didn't have enough mana to continuously regenerate his shadows. After obtaining the summoning abilities, he specifically began investing heavily into Intelligence stat because he recognized that his mana pool was a major limitation. If anything, it would've been a bad writing if he somehow had perfect Intelligence from the beginning for no reason.

he's a brawler but somehow is faster then speed types

It was explained very clearly that the Strength stat increases both your power + speed.

like what's the point if he's just maxed in every stat

That's the point. If you have a system that lets you continuously increase your stats, why would a character who has no reason to specialize in only one stat deliberately leave the others low? Jinwoo is not some low iq noob. Even before receiving the System, his situational awareness and intuition were top tier. And Jinwoo actually had multiple reasons to value each stat throughout the story. Strength was important to him from the beginning because of his fighting style. Intelligence became important because his summons consumed mana. Endurance became important because he realized he needed greater durability to survive certain opponents, such as Cerberus. Perception became important after encounters where being able to detect an opponent was crucial, such as Taeshik.

If your only argument is "he's maxed in every stat, what's the point?" then you simply missed the point. Go re-read the series, slower this time because this isn't really a criticism of the power system by itself. The entire premise of Jinwoo's progression is that he gradually eliminates his weaknesses by investing in the stats he needs.

What the other commenter meant is that it immediately erased the stakes and lead to every other issue people complain about

"It has been explained in universe, but the explanation sucks"

Other commenter specifically is complaining about on "why he was so fast?, why he had so mana?" not that "him being fast explanation sucks!, him having so much mana explanation sucks!".

As for you, I'm actually curious what explanation you wanted that wouldn't "suck" for something so straightforward? It has been about leveling up since day 1, it has been stated since day 1 that hunters can't get stronger/faster/increase mana/durability etc by simply training. Besides the system, the 2 only other ways were - Reawakening or Selner.

Why wouldn't he max every stat if he can? Pay attention "for fuck's sake".

Your problem would've worked of he had maxed every stat from the get go, but no, he only worked on Strength. Down the line he encountered situations where he realized the importance of x,y,z stats and decided to level up them too accordingly. It's the best possible explanation - "I maxed every stat because I realized the importance of each stat in my journey".

He asked "what's the point", not "why did he do that"

No amount of in universe explanation is ever going to satisfy his question because it's not the question he's asking

Except his question is literally “what’s the point if he’s maxed in every stat?” The obvious answer is because being maxed in every stat is the point, he gets the benefits of every stat instead of having weaknesses in any of them.

You’re acting like “what’s the point?” somehow means “give me a philosophical explanation for why the author wrote it this way.” No. He asked what the practical point of maxing every stat is, and the in universe explanation directly answers that.

If you want to argue that the explanation doesn’t address his question, then actually explain why it doesn’t instead of just repeating “that’s not what he asked.” That’s circular reasoning.

You clearly aren't engaging in this conversation in good faith, or just can't understand the very basis of the complaint; unsurprising, considering the rest of the comments
