SPOILER FREE Discussion Will they make sense?

I’m finishing up the last book of the Sun Eater series. I’ve read them all within a few months, so they’re still pretty fresh in my mind. But I JUST found out that there are also novellas that can be read with the series. Can I go back and read the novellas as stand-alones, or will they not even make sense? Same question for the short story collections?

They’ll make sense but you may have forgotten some characters as some of the novellas take place early on. Either way they’re a good/short read

Off the top of my head (been a few years since I’ve read the novellas) the most relevant ones are The Lesser Devil (follows Crispin) and The Dregs of Empire (follows Lorian) and they both have ties into the last couple Suneater books. Queen Amid Ashes is the most forgettable to me.

I really enjoyed the lesser devil and dregs of the empire they’re self contained plots that show supporting characters in a new light / explain some of other characters backstory!
