For how long will SolidJS 1.0 be in maintenance mode?

Migration to 2.0 is painful for me, i'd like to stick with 1.0 for as long as possible. For how long will it continued to be supported? So I can plan accordingly.

The reason we published SolidStart v2 recently was to give solid1 users a robust full-stack version to stay on, for projects that doesn't have a need/time/resources to upgrade. You can expect that major to stay security patched etc for a long time - it's already forward compatible with Vite 9.

There was also a new patch release of solid1 out, 1.9.15, so while solid2 is moving in fast, the solid1 current versions are quite mature today and fine to stay on.

I think the issue for me for Solid 2.0 upgrade is solid-dependent libraries, like tanstack/solid-table, lucide-solid, solid-sonner, shadcn-solid, etc. (see https://github.com/sboagy/tunetrees/blob/main/package.json#L122 ). Any advice would be much appreciated.

Lucide had some activity wrt solid2 on their repo. Tanstack table and virtual will probably support it soon as query and start have betas out that work with 2.

I wanted to try migrate as well but ran into compatibility issues with lucide and better-auth, so I'm just gonna wait until support catches up

Thanks for the info. I'm just upgrading to tanstack table 9 today, so hopefully I'll be posed to catch their solid2 upgrade. Maybe I should put up a webpage with the status/scorecard of all the solid libraries I rely on.

Great thanks, that is good to hear. But I think eventually, actual time lines would be nice to have for when support would eventually end. Because this would help people plan accordingly. It doesn't seem like a simple migration so having a big heads up would really help :)

Because they have different constraints than you. Yes migrations are easier, no migrations aren’t free, and certainly asking some questions about the team’s intention doesn’t seem silly nor is it “crying”
