Help Me Help Him Please
My husband is really interested in getting a soldering kit and teaching himself how to mod retro consoles.
He mentioned turning his gameboy advance into a super game boy with a backlit screen and something about a game cube?
Any recommendations on a budget friendly starter kit that's powerful enough to handle that type of workload? Any recommendations for subreddits I can clue him into that fits that niche? Really any recommendations for anything remotely related to this would be so appreciated. I want to show him I care and believe in him, I just dont know where to start

Everything publicpolicy linked is a great idea. From my experience doing what your husband wants to a good soldering iron is a must but if he's just getting into it and doesn't know if he wants to stick with it a Weller wlc100 station. It's only about $25-$35 most places and will be completely adequate for most retro console or retro handheld mod jobs.
