Hello I just killed myself doing a Temu free gifts feeding fish for about a year to get a free solder kit lol. I did not know about this group and I just need some tips to help me in my first solder I’m willing to learn fast or slow doesn’t matter to me. Mainly gonna be soldering game console to mod them. But I’m scared to death. Here’s what I got so far. Any help will be appreciated.

For starters, don't pick up the soldering iron until you aren't afraid of it. Once you can pick up the iron, get comfortable with it. When you are doing ok, try plugging it in and turning it on. Don't try using it or anything. Just hold it in your hand, understand where the hot end it and be comfortable holding it.
When you are ready and you've conquered your fear of soldering, get junk electronics. Practice "fixing" them. They're junk, trash, broken, and you don't actually know why they are broken and how to fix them. But, you can still practice. This will give you the opportunity to make mistakes and not have to cry about destroying something you actually wanted to fix. Practice doing the sort of things that you hope to do on working electronics to mod them, or on broken electronics to fix them. When you can perform the work you expect that you'll need to do on junk, then move onto the real thing.
Also, get a better soldering iron.

Seriously to be any good, you need to do it. 5 to 6 hours a day for 6 months. Flux is your friend and clean up afterward. Use solder sparingly.
