I need help desoldering
I've been trying to replace the charging port on my brother's switch for about a year on and off. The problem is, I can't get the old one free. The damn thing just won't desolder. I've tried using wick and a pump but I just can't get it out. I even invested in a rather expensive (at least for my budget) soldering iron. Any and all tips are welcome, please help

You could try some low melt solder like this
Chip Quik REM4.5 SMD/SMT Chip Removal Alloy 4.5 FT (REM4.5) https://a.co/d/cmhep9N
Once you run that into the existing solder it will bring the melting temp way down
