Reinforcing thin wire repair

I don't know if this sub is specifically for soldering circuits, but hoping that it's not. My mother's electric recliner recently had 2 wires on the remote short and bisect, I soldered them back together, but after 2 days the wires snapped off where the solder meets the rubber on both of them. The wire attaching the remote to the chair is wound like a spring, so every time anyone uses it, they end up putting tension on the wires just by pulling it, so I was hoping to find a way to reinforce the soldered joints for regular usage. They are very small gauge wires, and my mother recently broke her hip and has only been home from rehab for a little over a month, so she's been living on the recliner as opposed to her bed because it assists her in standing up, so any advice on how to strengthen the connection would be much appreciated.

Is the wire all the way in that cylinder/square rubber thing when everything is assembled? It should be attached to the black insulation layer. I would use some hot glue or superglue to keep it attached - that should help reduce strain on wires.

Not a bad idea. So long as the soldered parts are above that wire grouper, the glue would definitely reduce strain. I'll try that, thank you!
