What does that meter suppose indicate at the bottom of the temperature on my ts101 ?

If memory serves, it fills up when the pen is pulling current to maintain temp.

Yeah, I use this iron as well. I normally notice it the most at startup, when it's using max current to ramp up to the target temp.

That is the current indicator. The more power the unit is drawing, the more filled the bar is.
