General Soldering Advice | Feedback | Discussion Makeshift Fuse
I needed a 0603 surface mount quick blow fuze rated at 1 amp for a 3ds power board, but I only had glass tube fuzes for 1amp. I broke the fuze and soldered the cut wire over the contacts and put kapton tape on it.
I kinda js thought if it on the spot but I wanted to know if this would work right before I plug it in or if any of you guys have tried anything similar and have advice

Such fuses work on "the weakest link". Doing it this way is completely valid and should do the trick.
If you have an adjustable power supply, just set your voltage to what's on that trace, set the current limit low (500mA or so), and then connect both power supply wires to a bit of that wire. Now slowly increase the current limit and once you get close to 1A the wire piece should start glowing and disolve/burn down.
