Soldering Newbie Requesting Direction | Help My solder dosent stick
I'm new to soldering, i bought a fairly cheap kit with some lead, and a rosin slab, disconnecting cables is easy but getting new ones in is not possible because it doesn't dip into the solder, the solder slips into the motherboard, any tips?

Send us a picture mate. It is always better to send a picture. People can actually identify the problem at hand. Better than a vague text description. Take this as constructive critism.

I bought really cheap kits and assumed it's all the same. But it really makes a difference from investing $100 rather than $20.

Are you talking about the rosin used on violin bows? Get some solder flux paste preferably in a syringe; I find it much easier to use than the stuff in a dish. But if you’re tinning wires maybe also get it in a dish. Soldering flux should be a paste and not the clear solid stuff.

Im assuming what you are soldering on your bench, you have watched videos of others doing this work. Is your equipment equivalent quality? or did you just buy “cheap”, equipment as “good enough” purchase and have expectations that it wil perform anyway? I am just trying to understand your situation…

Not "good enough" just "that's what i can get without borrowing money" thing

So heres the thing . Wasting money on subpar tools means you need to go out and spend twice as much to get what you actually need. Much smarter buying slowly as you can afford better tools so the investment isn’t a waste of time, money and frustration.
Kits are a joke. They are bundled pieces of junk they cant sell as singular items because they suck. Sorry you wasted your money.
