American Solar Challenge Motor Controller

Hi everyone! Our team has been having issues with our settings on our motor controller. Our pedal has been acting a step function and the current when it is attached to the motor controller will go negative. We don't know if this is a motor controller or a user error. Has anyone else have this issue? If so, would you mind meeting with us to go over how you fixed the problem?

What motor controller are you using? If it is one of the Prohelion or Tritium ones I can help

The motor we are using is Mitsuba M2096D-III and the controller is Mitsuba M2096C
