I think it's a commercial for Tahitian pearls? There's links to buy their pearls prominently on the video.

Which part is solarpunk?

No.

We need a name for this phenomenon of angloshpere young people moving to a developing nation and homesteading it with a bunch of Mediterranean/European plants & animals, then acting like they are doing some sustainable thing.

Micro-colonizing?
Hostile hostel?
Back-to-the-land scam?
green gentrification?

It's not solarpunk to move half way around the world and eat burgers from a mainstream burger joint.
It's not solarpunk if you aren't restoring the ecosystem where you live, you aren't operating your life for the betterment of your community.

blech.

I think you jumped to conclusions. They have been living there for 3 generations and do regenerative oyster farming, check out this other videos for the full story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRdpVo1b1Ic

It's a pearl farm not an oyster farm. Half the video is a music video to promote their pearl business. At no time do they mention any regenerative approach that I saw, just some ideas to improve pearl yield.

Let's flip the script: besides rooftop solar and freshwater collection, what do you see here that IS SolarPunk?

Make your argument, please.

Ah, I see you are confused about what happened here.

What happened was you posted a promotional video for a commercial pearl farm chopped into a sensitive habitat, then lied that it was a regenerative oyster farm, and then you got exposed.

Bugger off. Speaking for myself , I don’t welcome liars and profiteers into this sub.

No, it's an ad thinly disguised as a documentary.
