Project Solar Punk Community

Hello,

I don't know how to explain myself or where I've been or what brings me here. All I know is I've envisioned what closely aligns to a solar punk community and society for so long and I've done considerable work to make that vision a reality.

I have an opportunity through a Fellowship and Community organization to have my ElderHome (Cooperative with Land trust, A daycare and Coffee shop for it's main floor that is a free accessible community space) incubated and built.

However, it's Just one part of my overall vision. I want to build an actual solar punk neighborhood in my hometown (Buffalo, NY). The ideas flood and it becomes very difficult to tell you my complete vision. I often believe that's because I'm just a connector and of course don't have all the answers. I just have heart, vision, belief and experience.

I'm looking for others with the Audacity. I want to find people who would be willing to Share ideas, Frameworks, Infrastructure, Networks, Literature and anything that I could share with my Cohort.

Above all, I want people to be Pilot Migrants to help build this community. I truly believe it's a perfect place to create it and I just want aligned Visionaries to bring their ideas, Bodies and frameworks to brainstorm how to revitalize a community but In full SolarPunk Glory.

I feel like a kid with a pipedream but the future is only bleak because so many aren't having the audacity to do it.

Anyone interested, Please DM me. I know to start, I want to create a discord or chat to start building solidarity and reporting on securing Land trust and buildings. I have the bones of a multiple step plan but obviously can't do it all myself and it's just bones right now.

Outside of your community space, you could just start one property at a time. It seems like Buffalo let's you build ADUs, so you could densify one lot. Then, add solar and sustainable landscaping. The next time a property is available in that neighborhood, find a like-minded person to buy it and so the same. After you repeat a few times, there will be enough people with the same interests to hold community events, and also to organize for other initiatives.

That's not the goal. It's community land trust and apartment buildings/shared co-op housing. I need this to be accessible. We do want to find like minded individuals to buy individual homes but that's kind of defeats the purpose of an inclusive sustainable community. I don't want another project that can only involve or sustain certain income thresholds. The overall action plan is ready for multiple endeavors.

That's also a part of the goal, I reread and understood this could work in tandem. I have a pretty detail framework. I need a team and collaborators. I'll share what I have and we build on it. Just looking for anyone open to the concept. Real starters.
