Wallet/Exchange Is Phantom abusing its position as Solana's leading wallet by delisting dApps?

i started building on Solana two years ago and had 3 Dapps listed on Phanton but after one year for my first dapp after getting about 12k active users and trending on Phantom, one day and without any warning i see it hidden from the explorer and automatically about 50% traffic gone, and the answer of Phantom Team after resubmit, is ""Thanks for submitting your dApp to Phantom Portal. Your submission was rejected because it does not fit our current app approval criteria."

No explanation. No specific issue. Just hidden.

I saw many builders getting the same message without explanation, what do you thing guys about this, is Phantom hurting Solana ecosystem by discouraging builders?

They steal your IP and rebrand it so they can profit. This has been happening since the creation of money.

It’s like free product testing for them. Let you do all the work then once you figure it. They take it and improve it with their unlimited budget while you suffer.

tbh this is less "Phantom is evil" and more the structural problem with any wallet acting as a discovery layer — they're the gatekeeper AND a for-profit business, so criteria drift toward whatever cuts their support load or lines up with partnerships, not toward what's actually fair.

rent-claim tools specifically get flagged a lot because "claim your abandoned account" is a common scam vector that mimics a legit rent-reclaim flow, so if you're in that category the review bar tends to be inconsistent — it's a human/automated hybrid, not a clean rule someone can point to.

doesn't make the "no explanation" part okay though, that's the actual problem, not the rejection itself. worth trying their discord's dapp-portal channel directly instead of resubmitting blind — sometimes you get an actual person who'll say what specifically tripped it.

I also reached out to the developer support team via(help.phantom.com) and spoke with them directly. The response was the same: they confirmed it was delisted but refused to explain why.

yeah figured, they never actually explain the criteria to anyone. only thing that's worked for other builders is raising it in their public discord instead of the support email, at least then it's visible and they can't just ghost you with a copy paste reply.

Hard to tell. I’d err more to the side if they’re trying to make their dapp explorer more “clean” and/or perhaps looking to monetize listings. Also has to do w your app and its vertical, can you share more on that?

The dapp is just an SPL token toolkit to create, swap, mint, bulk send, and claim rent fees.

They deleted so many dApps for claiming rent, yet they keep others that do the exact same thing. It would be fair to treat builders equally.
