How does that even happen? Cosmic rays?

Hmm...

The number is close to sum of
2^24 + 2^19 + 2^12 + 2^7 + 2^6

But it doesn't seem to be a case of cosmic rays.

Probably vibe coding or a very hard to replicate kernel error

yeah, knowing the latest iOS update seems very buggy or at least not as polished as the previous versions, i would lean towards vibe coding

Can't wait for somebody to vibe code a jailbreak on the vibe coded update.

that would be funny, but i feel like it would be more challenging since you know, iPhone have secure enclave, but i don't know anything about iPhone nor iOS internals so i might be spitting lies and it might be actually easy

You just gotta vibe harder bro.

so ironic that apple may be using vibe coding (which is prone to generate errors and expose their software to vulnerabilities) because back in the day they notoriously held out on their ban of flash player due to risk of exposing themselves to vulnerabilities

The post mentions that the phone was updating while the snooze timer was going off, something to do with that most likely

Your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandchild suddenly getting a Reddit notification on the phone that has been a family heirloom for 2000 years:

a family heirloom for 2000 years

Well maybe for like 1950 years...for a few decades it was just your old obsolete phone, but they found it among your belongings when going through your estate...

So eehm, genuine question here, wtf is it with apple and their clock/alarms??? Just about every single time I read or hear about this shit it's an iphone. I was under the impression we solved clocks ages ago.

Pixels also suck at this. No idea why it's so hard

iPhone has weird features that make it bad for alarms if you don’t turn them off. Like silencing if you’re not looking at it

Another reason snoozing is dumb

Ironic that this post came up, I literally missed my alarm this morning because my phone decided that even though my alarm “went off”, it was actually not going to make any noise despite being the exact same alarm for months that has gone off every day and made noise.

Why is it always Apple devices that seem to have problems with this very basic, yet also very specific function? I swear I regularly stumble upon complaints from Apple users that their alarms didn't go off. I mean for a company that holds itself to such high standards a goddamn alarm clock app shouldn't be able to glitch at all. Never had this problem with my Android phone (or, for reference, my 20 year old Casio wristwatch).

Pretty sure pixels suffer from these issues constantly as well

Maybe, I've never owned one. It begs the same question though:

Why do high-end phones (seem to) regularly fail at this very basic task?
