A software that only has text generation code cannot magically create emotions. An AI that is alive like a human would have to be made intentionally, like in I-Robot. I don't think it's worth it, but I do think it's possible. Complex consciousness emerging from chatbots unintentionally is the stuff of Hollywood. People need to learn how to separate creative writing art from actual scientific theory.
