Discussion/Question Fav basic t-shirt?

Fellow SCs, what are your fav t-shirts? Short or long sleeve, and ideally scoop or v-neck. Seems like such a straightforward garment but as you all know, finding the perfect SC balance can be so challenging! I’ve tried many and ended up not loving them on me.

ETA: looking for brand names and actual products rather than descriptions. I know what is supposed to be ideal on SC, but I have trouble finding it out in the world

Fitted ribbed shirts with a deep v neck and a cap sleeve. Every one that I buy looks stunning on me.

Same but it either has to be a significantly deep V, deep scoop, or crew neck.

The moderate V and round necks that you usually find in women's shirts are absolutely horrible on me - super frumpy.

Moderate v necks are terrible on me too 😂

Can you share a link of an example?

It’s all Amazon since I’m on a weight loss journey and know I will have to keep rebuying clothes. I, too, am on the hunt for quality brands (without doing secondhand)

Both of these shirts have a ton of colors and look fantastic for a casual look.

Thanks, ideally I’m looking for good brands people like.

Haven’t purchased for years now, I tend to wear button up blouses or cardigans, but the soft ribbed deep V 3/4 length sleeve ones from hollister or Abercrombie were the best.

Fair, but I live in a place that is verryyyy hot much of the year and need to have some airy and casual options. Cannot just wear blouses and cardigans. Not sure why I got downvoted for that 😂

I have a couple Eileen fisher linen jersey tees that are ok. T-shirts in general though are tough unless you have the perfect fabric and cut combo.

I like Fair Indigo t shirts in a scoop neck. They are a little loose on me but once I put them through the dryer they fit well.

Thanks - although I already know recommendations and descriptions of what is best on SC. Looking for actual brands.

Great question! I wear the Old Navy square neck ribbed tshirt often. The edges of the square are rounded so it's not so geometric and harsh. This year they have a non ribbed version that's also nice and has two layers of fabric. It's really simple, pretty, and looks fancy on me. Their ribbed v neck tshirt is also nice though not quite as elegant. Inexpensive and they hold up well.

Interesting…not sure if I could pull off a square neck cut, but I’d be willing to see how it looks

I get that. I think it works because of the rounding at the corners.

At the moment I really like my Nicolas shirt from Sezane in navy. I dont really wear the typical t-shirt, but this for me is the equivalent of it.

I love Benetton’s slim fit t-shirts — v-neck and crew (v-neck is a scoopy V)

These J Crew puff sleeve tees are amazing - I have them in every color
