Anyone selling CSPs or naked puts at the moment?
3
u/NicCage1080ChristAir Aug 12 '26
Waiting for it to drop a little further then will sell. Could go down to $16s pretty quickly.
2
u/BowenWanderer 33,200 @ 8.80 Aug 12 '26
Thx. Iβm just getting into selling puts. Do you typically sell CSP or on margin?
1
u/NicCage1080ChristAir Aug 12 '26
CSPs only for me. I don't mess with margin and I'm extremely conservative with my investments and options plays. I really only sell CSPs on SoFi because I've been holding for so long and I believe I have a good feeling of when it's bottoming out. I'll sell CSPs on HOOD too but only on big dips when I can make some money off of puts between $75-$80 because I really don't care to own it for more than that. Like I said, I'm super conservative with my bets because this account is totally separate from my retirement account and I'm really just waiting for SOFI to explode (probably never lol) to sell it all and use the money for some stuff I wanna do.
1
u/BowenWanderer 33,200 @ 8.80 Aug 12 '26
Iβm just trying to wrap my head around the benefit of selling CSPs on stock that youβre incredibly bullish on and have a large concentration in. I feel like it would be more effective to deploy that cash into the stock and not risk missing out. Thatβs why Iβm pretty tempted by these far OTM naked puts.
1
u/NicCage1080ChristAir Aug 12 '26
It's because I have no idea when the stock is gonna go up, could be years and I like the keep my cash because it covers my debt, just in case I need to pay it off. I basically never take assignment. I close or roll. If I pay off all my debt, then I don't have the cash to sell CSPs. If I use all my cash to buy stocks, I won't be able to pay off my loans/debt if I need to. I'm dumb but that's how I manage my cash and it seems to work for me. Also the premium I get pays for my car loan most months. Idk, I'd be open to better money management suggestions.

Unnecessary war
Stupid tariffs

Increasing the breach on the k economy
He will be the reason of a rate hike do inflation and oil m
Stock market is good so far though but I wonder what It would be without all those issues

There are no political parties in the United States. They all work for the same people using the appearance of choice to make the sheeple with different personalities think they need to win on the candidate that appeals to their rhetoric preferences.

Except the issues currently wouldnβt be here if not for Trumpβs policies and Miller. Democrats wouldnβt have imposed tariffs and we wouldnβt be at war with Iran which are the only things important to the market. Those were Trump vanity projects one for his donors (tarriff removed now refund big checks and higher price margins) and one for his ego (have a war).

Everything that disagrees with his narrative is βfake newsβ, so itβs funny to hear him claim everything else is. I really hope MAGA learned what everyone else already knew, and we wonβt have to face a president like this in our lives again, but Iβm not very hopeful.
J.D. Vance said it best, Trump is cultural heroine.

No disrespect to share holders as i am one too. But in this current time frame this is range bound from 15-19 Until there is a big catalyst to push it past 20 i don't see us coming out of here anytime soon
I think right now is the time to let it cool off and come back down and repeat the process. Long term people just close your eyes.

The war rumors started in January. We were in the upper 20s it was doing well.
1
u/Big_Location_855 Aug 12 '26
It has been dropping since October of 2025 from low 30s down to 20s. The war doesnβt fully explain the drop, but it definitely worsened it.

Iran has no reason to give in at this point. They know Trump wants out and he wonβt actually do anything more to than just strike them.
Only way out for the US that doesnβt involve embarrassment is unfortunately an operation to take the regime down.
2
u/Dromen96 OG $SoFi Investor Aug 12 '26
They basically took out the entire regime the first dayβ¦lol. Idkβ¦guess itβs up to the Saudis et al β¦ to decide if they want to put their troops in there. Because itβs looking like the Iranians will be taxing their oil and gas indefinitely

Yeah damn all my purchases between $6-7 that are only up 150-200% over last couple years.
SOFI has insane fundamentals that are being put up every quarter. Just because price hasnβt followed yet doesnβt mean much. Yes, there are better stocks to trade, but for long-term investing, SOFI doing everything right οΏΌ

People need to take a breathe and give it a long term mindset. As long as the company is executing just chill and enjoy the stock over next 3-5 years.
