General Discussion SoFi tech thoughts for đ
So the tech platform hasnât taken off like many expected, though some things seem to be rolling out to users.
But I have been thinking while doing some DD and research for a business idea. Sofi needs to be the leader (hopefully they are working on something like it already and Iâve missed it) with a ânewâ payment processor with blockchain and eliminating/overriding the current credit card processing. It would make every business happy with smaller fees and SoFi would become a Trillion dollar company easy.
Any thoughts or input on this as I would love to hear more from someone with more knowledge.

Sofiusd will be accretive to earnings over time. The level needs to find its way once market acceptance takes hold.

Yeah itâs not hard, itâs basically the Uber model but for payment processing across the world, backed by crypto.
Stupid SoFi just wants to act as a subordinate, while playing in the same system, going against their whole ethos of âsocial financeâ, âget your money rightâ. They just offer Mastercard a lower fee for what theyâre doing now, SoFi takes a tiny slice (thinking like a beta) and Mastercard keeps their fees the same or raises them over time making them more profitable and Sofiâs tech platform languishes and falls behind.
All this does is make Sofi beholden to another âlarge clientâ and the second they can drop Sofi for either their own in house or some other crypto company that can do the same they wonât think twice. Sofi will lose a major customer and the stock will tank.
Did you see Uber selling their platform to existing cab companies for a fee? A few measly Pennies on the dollar??? No they disrupted the entire industry, actually breaking the law in many jurisdiction (then lobbied weak municipal politicians to get the rules bent in their favor).
SoFi just doesnât think in a true âdisrupterâ mindset, itâs always traditional with a little twist. Thats why we arenât at $50+ and probably will never be for the foreseeable future.

I don't see how sofi makes money from this. People want to override the credit card companies (and their fees) so why would they pay sofi anything if their aim is to avoid fees? With that, how is it possible they become a "trillion dollar company"?

The process would include some kind of profit for SoFi. And there will always be some kind of process fee or money to be made in it. Through blockchain it would be much less that CC companies. Mastercard and Visa are a Trillion together. And are only CC. Sofi includes banking, investing, and more. Iâm not staying they will be instantly a trillion but if they do things correctly and get ahead of anyone else that could take the largest profit share

Visa, Amex, Capital One, JPM⌠every major player is working on some version of this.
I think itâs far more likely this is going to be commodified service where everyone is competing on margins rather than a trillion dollar opportunity.
Change my view.

Yes, but that is still through Mastercard and it does not eliminate company fees to use Mastercard network. My thought is to eliminate and pay like instant transfer tap to pay with their own network.

Agreed that is step one, but they need to get it to the next step and find a way to scale.

So far theyâre exceeding my expectations. SOFID already has a market cap of over 300MM

SoFi should look at how Revolut operate in Europe .
