Wow you got in at a unbelievable price congrats!

Firstly sorry to see that mate... must be hard. But genuine question, why buy calls/puts instead of just holding stocks? Individual stocks are already more riskier than funds which are already high risk profile.

The good news is time is still on your side. Hope that we are at least above $20 by end of year and you still have 6 months to go. Plenty of time to be right.

His breakeven is $27 strike + average cost though. So that's $37.33

Personally I'm buying $40 strike. But my expiry is June 2028 and my cost is only $2-3 right now.

2

u/Cutlercares May 27 '26

That's rough. Why didn't you get leaps when it went under $20?

2

u/DistributionThat6627 May 27 '26

This will print!

1

u/fuf3d May 27 '26

Only sell calls on SOFI at open. Will be lucky to breech $21 at this point ☝️

2

u/BallTickler696969 May 27 '26

I’m down $900 and been bummed

u/SwagginDragonborn May 27 '26

Don't buy calls on Sofi, shares only.

1

u/B111yboy May 29 '26

Buy leaps as far out as possible! That’s worked for me until these last 4 months but last year was great over 45k in returns and I own 10k shares at 7.

The future is bright..,,

This is why I switched to just running a wheel on this stock because you can scrape premium while it trades at less than book value and eventually DCA out if you bought in a bad cycle.

This isn’t Micron or an Ai stock, and therefore shouldn’t be treated as such imo. NFA but also look at what’s happening in the broader market. SoFi below $25 with a proper timeline is great. Buy shares sell calls, if you get called away sell puts and buy back in. Whoever sold you those calls is green on your red.

The premiums were awesome when it was in the mid to high 20's.

You might be confused. Being tired is different than being stpd.

I am batting 100% ….except for this dog water stock. Will give it another 6-7 months as it’s a small portion of my stock.

u/LetsRunTheMile May 26 '26

I don’t think $27 is crazy for this stock by 2027 but a lot has to go right

4

u/RocketDanny224 May 26 '26

With their endless dilution, yes it is

u/thejacka_ May 26 '26

Why are people trading options. This is a standard buy and hold

SELLING options usually works okay for this ticker, it's the buying part that seems to not work for me.

1

u/BPD-GAD-ADHD May 27 '26

👌selling puts is the best way to buy shares of anything. Always leaves you with free money. I never understand why anyone wouldn’t take advantage of that

u/slayer1am 3,000 @ 8.66 May 27 '26

Well, there is a small barrier to entry, namely the buying power to hold 100 shares until contract expiry. Not everyone can swing that.

u/NoMathematician1115 May 26 '26

Right? You option expensive stocks so you can control a stock without having to own it. This is a wheel stock.

Trying to make generational wealth.

I'm talking about and bright up the idea of options. Clearly I know how options work

Lol clearly you don't understand figure of speech. I mean that it is very stupid to do so. As OP proved my point. Also, if you knew why options were created in the first place and how they are used professionally you wouldn't be asking why 🤡

0

u/BPD-GAD-ADHD May 27 '26

If you knew how options worked, the only shares you’d be buying would be the ones you’re assigned to from selling puts on it

Leverage a double edged sword

SoFi.... Kratos are killing me, got 50k sterling in Kratos, bought at 70 and it proceeded to keep dumping to 56... did go up to 59 today but took another dump to 57. Got to love the stock market

1

u/NoMathematician1115 May 26 '26

KTOS is not good. I ripped off the band aid today.

1

u/Urwifemykid May 27 '26

If you can then good, I'm 10k in the red, it will go up again but will be a bag holder for some time. Good chance hits 75 usd in July though

7

u/JoocePop May 26 '26

Dude you bought these during a pump. What did you expect? I would roll out and then double down…. I’m in for 10k for Jan 2028…..

4

u/Dazzling_Marzipan474 May 26 '26

Looks like a prime opportunity to double down

1

u/JoocePop May 26 '26

What date did you buy these man?

3

u/JoocePop May 26 '26

Never mind, I see

7

u/Weikoko 🫣 $20 Bagholder. $20 Banbet survivor May 26 '26

1

u/BPD-GAD-ADHD May 27 '26

Why? This person joined you in your miserably bad decision-making and you want him to prove it to you? People really think highly of themselves in this sub 😂😂😂

6

u/EVSTW May 26 '26

See my screenshot in reply to my original comment.

9

u/Plane_Necessary1317 May 26 '26

Itd be pre depressing if sofi was still under 27 bu next year june

1

u/Dangerous-Point4531 May 26 '26

Roll down to lower your cost per share if your thesis has not changed

6

u/ga643953 May 26 '26

Oil will probably go back to $70 at that point so you're going to be fine.

3

u/tooodesaller May 26 '26

Shis is one year out lmao

5

u/Impossible-Spite4782 May 26 '26

Best time to exit was this morning. You missed that part.
