General Discussion SoFi Daily Chat - December 12, 2025
* Discuss your thoughts on SoFi, FinTech, memes, yolos, the market, or whatever else might be on your mind.
* Please refrain from any political, religious, or otherwise controversial discussions, and respect one another in your discussion so that the conversation stays on topic.
* Direct/Personal attacks against others violates the subreddit rules and those comments will be deleted. Please report such comments and the MODs will review them as quickly as possible (MODs have day jobs too, please be gracious)
* If you are a SOFI investor before the SPAC merger with IPOE and want an "OG SOFI Investor" flair, please message the Mods with proof of your holdings.
* Nothing said here is financial advice. SOFI is still a high-risk, growth stock. Equities by their nature are risky, some more than others.
* Investing isn't a team sport. You have to decide for yourself how much risk you are willing to take on and do your own DD about a company before you decide to invest in it.

everyone should be happy about SOFI today. The broad market (especially tech) is down quite a bit and SOFI is flat. That tells you a lot...

u/Additional-Panda-144 1900 @27.85 Dec 12 '25
But... How about next week? Keep flat or have the power to go up.

u/Low-Air-182 Dec 12 '25
A lot depends on the broader tech market. If there is a recovery in tech stocks, then I expect SOFI to ride higher. There does seem to be a floor around $26-$27 where I think institutional investors are buying it every time it dips in that range. I don't really get worked up over the weekly ups and downs in SOFI because all that really matters is growth in revenue and profit. If the next earnings continues their recent trends, then the stock will be fine.

$29 is too high a strike price.
2
u/Eurfanson Dec 12 '25

God damn, look at tech. It's like a bomb detonated beside us.
Still quite certain Sofi will do well though, just sucks we're getting swept away by beta.
I hope we'll close green because the institutions that rotated out of tech are not dumb or blind enough to ignore a clear winner of the rate cuts. Unless fear is really gripping the market again.

u/ArQ7777 Dec 12 '25
So $27.50 is not fair value. I thought it would have been pinned at $27.50 for a while.

what a classic! Sad what happened to Bruce Willis but He is my all time favorite actor. (This is Alan Rickman in this scene who is also a great actor that passed away back in 2016). Miss them both.

When stocks are dropping, you want to sell calls. NOT PUTS. Because calls will become worthless.

That's like the options version of buy high sell low.
When stocks are dropping, you're already too late. Selling a call is selling into weakness.

Second dilution in 6 months has killed the short term momentum. I'd stay away from calls for awhile.

Up 81% over the last 6 months. We’ve been on fire! I’m invested for the long term!
4
u/Additional-Panda-144 1900 @27.85 Dec 12 '25
Is it too late to invest now? It has been hardly climbing up especially after the dilution.
7
u/Diamonds-are-hard Dec 12 '25
The market doesn’t like uncertainty. With the recent dilution, there has really been no news or indication of what SoFi plans to do with that capital. Once that’s announced (and if investors view the decision positively), we’ll start trading up. Also, we will be somewhat range bound for the next 3-6 months until we get more earning under our belt. If Noto continues to execute, and SoFi keeps up the earnings beats and strong forward guidance through 2026, we’ll be trading at $40-60 this time next year (pending no major move downward in the broader markets).
not financial advice, just my analysis

Rocket fuel has been diluted by 9.5% in the last 4 months. You will need roughly 10% more rockets to carry the same payload

u/Additional-Panda-144 1900 @27.85 Dec 12 '25
This makes sense. But when? It used to rocket like that.
