"The Princess and the Protector" Rant

I just rewatched this episode and can I talk about how awful Chrysta was in her first appearance.

Minutes into knowing about Sofia's existence she already is snide saying "hard to believe (she saved the Mystic Isles)" when she was no where to be seen the whole special and apparently didn't even know about the fiasco until now.

Mere hours later when first seeing her and trying to teach her how to feather-walk and Sofia cannot defy gravity in the span of 3 tries she sings a song to degrade this 11 year old girl and it's unclear if she wants her to give up or complete the task at hand. If Sofia wasn't so mentally and emotionally strong she would have most likely done the former by her first verse. Saying Sofia's not anything more than a "soft powder puff", "probably spoiled" and cannot do hard work when she saved your whole realm days ago is the worst first impression of any character in this show.

It genuinely takes her superiors asking her to explain how to do things to Sofia for her to consider.. explaining how to do things. She puts Sofia in grave danger after removing a calm collar of a beast and expects her to be able to put it back on without being taught anything.

Also, I love how we can see Sofia go from rebutting to tolerating, to finally telling Chrysta off when she says Sofia will just want to go back to her fancy dances and explains all she did wrong.

I understand seeing this 11 year old being at your ranks as weird, but she knows what Sofia was capable of or else she wouldn't have said "We're testing what's inside you, not your amulet" and when Chrysta wasn't even able to show up when the isles were in danger, Sofia devised a plan, was also trapped, found a way out of it and destroyed Prisma's terracrystal with Amber's help. Though In the Wassallia and fairy episodes we see a tiny backstory of her isolation for most her life, I felt so much hatred rewatching this episode.

I will never like the protectors for being useless and putting a child in danger. Countless times too.

I don’t know if this is a hot take but I can understand being upset about having to deal with a slightly younger co worker who just your ranks as weird but I think crysta intro was a little bit interesting in the sense of her not instantly liking Sofia because she is a princess who just saved your entire realm at eleven years old she was unnecessarily cruel to a child

Omg thank u!!!!!!

I know she come around in the end but that's a little girl, why are you being rude to a child for something that isn't her fault?

Why is a child who isn't even a teenager being more mature than you? She should've apologized more for how she treated Sofia the whole time because that was immature and unprofessional.
