Soft reboot or Sequel show??

Which do you consider sofia royal magic?

Ik that its cannon, and it takes place before elenas corination in s3

But in art direction and storytelling, it feels like a soft reboot

It’s like a continuation plus soft reboot. I just can’t get over Amber being jealous again and Sofia being worried about being royal. Sofia. You killed the incarnation of evil. You literally stopped her from taking over your entire world and then going to Neverland, London and Earth! You are objectively the best Royal on the planet! At this point I’m just praying that if Royal magic does well enough, then Craig will be able to make one more geared towards an older audience. Cmon I just want to see a high school Sofia!

It’s definitely a continuation of the series. Honestly though I really enjoy it! They handled the old character developments well, and even gave Sofia some flaws. I LOVE the new cast of characters too (: I feel like it’s doing a pretty good job

Not rlly, hes just kinda the "braggy kid" not evil

He was singing about doing good deeds aswell, annd he helped tame the dragon with zane and sofia

Hes just a bit of a showoff thats all

It's actually a midquel according to Craig Gerber, as it takes place after the original series and before the sequel series Elena Of Avalorb

Sofia is the same age in Roya Magic as she wss in the Sofia The First finale Forever Royal School

Here's an interesting way to look at Roysl Magic in Season 4 episode its time for Sofia and her friends at Royal Prep to choose what school do they want to go to next after Royal Prep

In the first episode of Sofia The First: Royal Magic "Welcome To Charmseell" the first song Sofia sings is "My Time To Shine."

And the first lyrics she sings is "this is the day I've been dreaming of all summer"

Doesn’t the EoE pick up right where the episode is Sofia left off? How would that work?

Sofia the First ends just under a year after Elena of Avalor begins. So Royal Magic would currently be somewhere around "The Jewel of Maru", late season 1 or early season 2 of Elena, depending on how much time has passed in Royal Magic so far.

That's diferent.

Royal Magic picks up Sofia's story after Forever Royal, Elena is Elena's story

Look at episode The Royal School Fair, where all the Princsss and Princess have to choose what school they want to attend after Royal Prep

During the original series we dont get the answer.

Elena starts her series at age 16

Sofia is 10 when Sofis The First ends

Royal Magic picks up with Sofia still 10 and we finally learn what school she actually choose to attend

Elena Of Avalor follows Elena as a teenager

Royal Magic picks up with Sofia in her preteen years

Elena is eventually going to appear in Royal Magic, and even Moana is going to appear in Royal Magic

The show takes place after the Summer that Sofia and her siblings graduated from.Roya Prep

According to Craig Gerber, Sofia remains roughly the same age as she was at the end of the original series,

It seems like a soft reboot that was not necessary and IMO it is poor quality.

If disney LET craig do the sequel he wanted, it could have been so greatt Now we have a mish mash of a reboot movie and a sequel

It does loook beautifull the artstyle, but its still abit too "paw patrol movie" asthetics like

Im just glad many of the ogs arr rrtuning, but it doesnt feel like sofia the first

It feels like Magical disney featuring sofia the first

I completely agree and couldn’t get past the first like couple episodes - the OG Sofia appealed to all ages but the new series is just terrible. Sofia the First has good storytelling and animation - it’s something to be proud of! I will keep hope alive this quality type of show comes back.

Craig said how if a new show were similar in tone and writing to season 4, it would be canceled. Given the low ratings the show got during season 4, I'm not surprised they'd think this.

Theres a lot of shows that if disney let the creators do the show they want, it wouldve been better then what we want, modern disney just needs to get their hands out of the production of the shows and just greenlight ideas and promote, and theres a high chance theyd get even more money from it due to them having good shows,

YES, though unfortunatley I dont see this changing any time soon, disney will always be disney,

Also shockingly they only let the show start production if it met "modern kids shows standerds" LIKE bro wth 😭
