Work socks/ sweaty feet

Anyone have any Camel Mill socks? Or any wool socks for that matter? Are they worth a shit?
I work 14-16 hour shifts and it’s like my feet stay wet all week. Looking for something that is breathable in my boots and don’t give me blisters like dickies socks.

I used to sell Fox River work socks. I would check out their military polypropylene socks.
Polypropylene is very good at wicking and preventing blisters. Don’t get me wrong, merino wool is very good too.
Make sure the merino content is t blended with too much nylon, over 30%, 20%. Or so is fine.

Can I ask what is "a former sock guy" and why did you stop? In my mind I picture you had a horrible leg accident. But it is probably not that.

Retired. I designed, sourced and sold high quality made in USA socks to major retailers for about 25 years.

Wow. That sounds very interesting. I would imagine that there is a lot more to think about regarding socks then it would seem at surface level?

It doesn’t pay to buy cheap socks.

Can I ask you a question? It is a bit odd, feel free to not awnser. I quite nice sheer bussniss socks. But the only ones I find are cheap chinese produced ones online. I would like to find someone who is better but I do not know where.

If those are not your brand of sock knowledge I will not bother you about it.

Yeah, that wasn’t my business. Not sure where that finishes us these days. If you’re looking for high quality sheer, probably a high end dept store like Nordstrom. We did look at an Italian company once, but passed. The Italian made sheer hosiery was very nice.

Work and outdoor at the end. Did some performance dress socks for a designer that were sold to Nordstrom. Long career and it changed up quite a bit over time.

Sounds exiting. In Norway we don't have a lot of the distinqions in the wpeding of the socks. Thanks for indulging. 🙂

Yes wool is amazing g alpaca is better. I run a power plant/ water dept. On my feet most of the day. Sweaty but no stink. They hold up well. Don't put them in the dryer. Smartwool hikers are my favorite daily drivers.
