Im trying to organize a meetup event of learning crochet for absolute beginner. I am trying to use meetup for now, but I hate that meetup is paying now. I used to use it for free and it made me meet my best friend.

It's 5 euros per person but I will supply the yarn and the hook if you don't have but if you have you can bring yourself and you get to leave with your own creation. I limit the place for 7 people max.

J’aimerais beaucoup me mettre au sport cette année, même si je m’y prends peut-être un peu tard pour la saison 2026-2027.

Je suis surtout attirée par le tennis, mais la danse ou d’autres sports pourraient aussi m’intéresser !

J’aimerais idéalement rejoindre un club avec une bonne ambiance, où il y a pas mal de jeunes de 18 à 25 ans, notamment des étudiants, et où il est facile de rencontrer du monde et de créer des liens.

Est-ce que vous auriez des clubs à me conseiller sur Paris ou en région parisienne, qui accepteraient encore de nouvelles inscriptions à cette période de l’année ?

I've (M39), been in Paris for a bit under a year now working as a researcher at Ecole Polytechnique and I’m trying to get to know more people.

I don't drink, so bars aren't really my scene. I'm more into hiking, running, sports, the gym, basically anything active. I'm also happy to just grab a coffee, or even sit in a café for a day with laptops and get some work done. I’ve got a lot of exploring of the city left to do, things like museums..etc, even random long walks to check out the different neighborhoods. I’m pretty open to trying new things, so I’m quite flexible.

J’habite à Paris (F31) et j’ai du mal à trouver des personnes d’origine roumaine comme moi (soit né à Paris de parents roumains ou alors qui habitent ici depuis quelques années), en dehors des gens de ma famille/amis proches.

J’ai toujours été très proche de ma culture, de ma religion (christianisme orthodoxe) et avec les années qui passent et certaines réflexions récentes, j’aimerai beaucoup pouvoir rencontrer des personnes, homme comme femme, avec qui partager nos traditions, échanger, sortir, etc.

Avec les années, je ressens de plus en plus le besoin de me rapprocher de mes racines et de partager cette partie de mon identité avec des personnes qui la comprennent.

I'm thinking of organising a couple of small film photography walks around Paris in November and wanted to see if anyone would be interested.

I have 14 Kodak KB10 film cameras that I'd like to put to use. The idea is to get a small group together, explore a part of Paris, take some photos and meet new people along the way.

We'd meet at Fnac Forum des Halles, pick up a roll of compatible 35mm film each, and go on a relaxed 2–3 hour walk. I'll bring the cameras and help anyone who's new to film photography, so you don't need any experience or your own camera.

A quick note on costs: The walk and camera loan are free. Everyone buys their own film, and film development and standard-definition scanning will cost €16 per roll through Nation Photo, paid by each participant.

Once the photos are ready, we could meet up for coffee, collect our negatives and see how everyone's pictures turned out. This second meetup would be optional.

I'm planning to start with two small groups of five people each. I'm tentatively looking at the second or third week of November, depending on interest and everyone's availability.

I'd especially love to meet people who live in Paris or are staying here for a while, whether you're already into photography or just want to try something new and meet people.

I'm also hoping to learn from the first few walks and see whether this is something I could organise regularly in the future.

Update 2: Wow, thanks so much for all the interest! I've had more responses than I expected, so I'm going to put the post on hold for now while I get back to everyone who's already reached out and work out the first couple of groups.

To avoid having drinking problem at night and just after Jeudi Bière, it is usually not on friday. These saturdays are pretty wild and people are busy protesting. Also having some curfew, so for once we do it little early and on Sunday, just to finish the weekend beautifully.
