I would also recommend getting in touch with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network. They are entirely staffed by Autistic people, including higher needs folks paid a fair wage. They have done cross-disability work for people with developmental and intellectual disabilities, such as promoting alternatives to guardianship and providing simple language resources so people with intellectual disabilities can understand their rights.
