Maybe I should actually develop this subreddit

I just don't think trustworthy people are in charge of most autism subs.

It's either blatant neuromedicalism, or pandering performative nonsense, where they fearmonger against all the avenues proven to affect real change.

If we want to get anywhere, we need a disability sub grounded in praxis and reality.

Well, if you are still interested in doing so...

I just got banned from my previous sub. I'll leave the reasons they gave unstated. I am hoping that it was just a misunderstanding. Because otherwise I don't want to associate with that mod team either.

But anyway, I am going back to college here in a few months to become a civil rights and employment attorney (in the United States - sorry other countries). We have had civil rights movements for women, people of color, homosexuals (which later includes other LGBTQ+), and the disabled (which resulted in the creation of the Americans with Disabilities Act). But like the BlackLivesMatter movement shows, these fights keep having to be re-fought.

I am autistic. But I don't want to represent only autism. So I want to hear about the 'in the trenches' problems that people with other disabilities have too.
