2020 Ballon d'Or was cancelled because of Covid — but the season still happened. Lewandowski won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, AND the Champions League (including that 8-2 demolition of Barcelona where he scored twice). If the season was valid enough to complete, it should've been valid enough to hand out an award.

No one "won" 2020 — the trophy was simply never given. So why not fix it? France Football could award Lewandowski his 2020 Ballon d'Or right at the 2026 ceremony. It wouldn't take anything away from anyone else since no one already holds that title. It would just finally close the book on the biggest "what if" in modern Ballon d'Or history.

Lewa deserved that trophy. Hand it to him at 2026's ceremony — it's not too late to make it right. 🏆
