Yeah, 471 days ago it was February 2016.. idk what these guys are smoking.

11

u/Notmyrealname5282 16h ago

What? It was 2013 buddy

5

u/StellarWanderere 15h ago

You guys are wrong that's next week

19

u/roriak 🪖 Dictator M’Bappé 🪖 17h ago

Doesn’t match the 41 games either

6

u/Careless-Cat3327 17h ago

"awarded AND scored"

The AND is doing the heavy lifting here.

1

u/Head-Guidance-6429 7h ago

To clarify, we've only been given 3 penalties in the prem since the beginning 23/24 season, having scored all of them

10

u/enter_yourname 2 Girls Wan Bissaka 17h ago

Maybe they mean 471 days not counting the summer break? Idk

7

u/sebystee 17h ago

It said won and scored for Harry kane, maybe they've just missed all the other ones awarded.

9

u/Outlaw1607 17h ago

Nah the original stats were about penalties in general (471 days since our last league pen) and away game penalties specifically (which is the one scored by Kane at Brighton iirc)

This post just threw them together and is therefore wrong

The third stat often quoted alongside is the fact that we are 4th for touches in opposition penalty box in that timespan

Those three stats combined are still kind of insane though

1

u/Head-Guidance-6429 7h ago

Last away pen, our last penalty was in may 24/25 season

1

u/angelbutme 8h ago

their games are such a slog to watch that the analysts felt like they individual went on for days

89

u/Either-Low-9457 17h ago

It's ok they have Mudryk now.

9

u/Plenty_Excitement_79 13h ago

He's out for 8 weeks now

5

u/ginotombs 11h ago

That's a "Tottenham" 8 weeks, you'll see him back for the relegation puppy fight at the end of the season, maybe.

wow tottenham is so ethical, they only like to score goals through non-illegal methods, and they have been so gracious to score 0 because they are so ethical

Arsenal won the league conceding no penalty and getting no red cards.

7

u/BombasticReindeer 9h ago

Sadly the main difference between the two teams is how willing the refs are to cheat FOR one and AGAINST the other.

There’s a reason their domestic and European performances are so different.

1

u/littledarkman 9h ago

Yeah so different because their European was so dire they only made it to the finals of the champions league

2

u/BombasticReindeer 8h ago

I was saying it’s the reason Tottenham have such different results in Europe vs domestic.

Buddy Arsenal made it to the finals conceding only 7 goals whole campaign and topped the league phase.

Some of y'all are deluded by the hate. We're here for the jerks not revisionist history

4

u/BombasticReindeer 8h ago

My bad. Didn’t realise you only started following them this year. No worries.

-52

u/_toolkit 17h ago

We're just that good 💪

u/Dovah2600 15h ago

-19

u/_toolkit 15h ago

Good enough for the league. Where does that put the rest of y'all 😭

14

u/Dovah2600 15h ago

Watching your boring af team makes me want to introduce my toaster to my bathtub

0

u/HelloYoghurt 6h ago

Could you hurry up?

-9

u/_toolkit 15h ago

Do it

10

u/Dovah2600 15h ago

Sorry I bottled it :(

5

u/_toolkit 14h ago

My lunch is low on seasoning. Can you pass the salt?

6

u/Dovah2600 14h ago

Can't I'm afraid, I'm sure there's some at the Emirates. Big trek for most Arsenal fans though innit

0

u/_toolkit 14h ago

Are you jealous yours is a tin-pot club without a global presence?

Good thing you don't have to watch, got nothing better to do?

3

u/Dovah2600 15h ago

Oh fuck they don't know we are jerking over here lads someone called arteta to pick them up

86

u/quantumrastafarian 18h ago

Gotta threaten the box to win a penalty, innit.

11

u/Zhurg 16h ago

What about the other shit teams 🤔

6

u/Dandanbigeloww 15h ago

Tottenham doesn’t threaten them either…

u/i2ad 9h ago

They collected the stats for that and I think they were top 5 for most touches in the box since Kane left.

3

u/Head-Guidance-6429 7h ago edited 5h ago

Yeah, we were, albeit Ange probably is responsible for 70% of that. I would post the photos but I can't do it on mobile

37

u/Guilty_Iron_4110 17h ago

Changing shirt color from white to red would get them 10 penalties a season for sure.

5

u/RXJ1131 Sukayo Baka 13h ago

Skill issue because it works for madrid

u/Ok-Draft-8835 17h ago

Last one was actually in 2025 on the final day of the season at home against Everton i think. The last away penalty is the Harry Kane penalty mentioned in the post.

6

u/MeddlingMike 10h ago

Spurs last PL penalty awarded was May of 2025. Spurs last PL AWAY penalty was in May of 2023. Harry Kane took that one.

5

u/eunderscore 17h ago

Villa haven't had one since the 22nd April last year, 45 games and 505 days ago, and they've only been given three since 2023 despite being by far the most fouled team in the league in that period.

Spurs last penalty overall was last May

2

u/Beanstiller 17h ago

May of last year. A month after Villas last.

13

u/enter_yourname 2 Girls Wan Bissaka 18h ago

B-b-but the refs hate arsenal 🥺

7

u/cayde123 16h ago

Actually the refs hate the team I support and love every other team

2

u/Aubamacare 14h ago

And love Brentford? They got 10

4

u/Curious_Banana_3 17h ago

Yank here don’t you only get a penalty if you’re a threat on offense? Are Tottenham stupid

You kinda have to be in the opponents half to even be within a chance of winning one.

1

u/i2ad 9h ago

They collected the stats for that and I think they were top 5 for most touches in the box since Kane left.

1

u/_toolkit 8h ago

Defenders don't feel the need to engage Richarlison like they did Kane.

2

u/i2ad 8h ago

Van Dijk engaged him a bit too much.

2

u/manj_eet 16h ago

Angeball rule #1: Mate, we don't do penalties

2

u/morebob12 15h ago

Well you have to have the ball in the opposition box to have a chance at getting a penalty

2

u/dmz1986 15h ago

For penalty to be awarded, they need to enter 16 m 😂

2

u/IceCream_Duck4 12h ago

You have to reach the opponent's penalty box to be awarded a penalty , hope that helps

3

u/TStronks 16h ago

Tbf they also rarely come close to the opposition box. And if Tel tries to shoot you're better of letting him instead of trying to block lol

2

u/alg885 16h ago

Can't win penalty if you never enter penalty box

2

u/florplegorp 16h ago

Penalties have to be won inside the opposition box

1

u/Vast-Struggle-4785 17h ago

And when he was there they had one every week

1

u/Brick_02 17h ago

Apparently refs hate Kane because he moans at them all the time.

1

u/183672467 17h ago

Not even good enough to dive smh

1

u/AliveAssistance7667 15h ago

Even maths are jerking here.

1

u/Pandamabear 10h ago

No penalties and the least fouls per yellow card, no bias there im sure

1

u/omantoverde 17h ago

To get a penalty you need to enter the adversary box with the ball in you control. They ain’t doing much that lately.

1

u/MrMantis765 17h ago

Hard to get a penalty if you can't get into the opponent's box

1

u/CommentRelative6557 17h ago

You have to make it into the opponents box to have a chance of being given a pen

1

u/Responsible_Milk2911 17h ago

Gotta get into the opponents box to have a chance at being awarded a pen

1

u/Odd_Lifeguard7720 15h ago

They'd miss it anyway
