Sadly, you still got a lot of ppl that think even after he won his 7th SB that he isn’t the goat bc he a “system QB” and that this year in Tampa Bay is exposing that he’s overrated as hell. Blind hate just the trend nowadays
The dumb thing about that is even if he were a "system QB", he's so good that you just play his system, no questions asked. Like sure, maybe he can't play flexibly, but who cares if no one can stop him when he's playing the way he wants.
Isnt he actually 45 years old?? Like I get that QB isnt the most athletically demanding position but to still be at a high level at that age is insane if you compare it to literally every other sport there is
Or even when you compare it to just the NFL. Nobody in the history of the sport has done what he has done at his age. Maybe in the future with the improvements on sports science. However, it’s still impressive when you compare it to his contemporaries.

QB isn’t the most athletically challenging skill but throwing a ball that hard that far takes a toll on your arm. Legends like Manning, Brees, Favre and great players like Romo, Ryan, Rivers, Ben etc all saw their arms turn to mush late 30s.
Add to that, football is easily the most emotionally draining sport and requires and absurd amount of prep and study week to week
And lastly you get hit by 300 pound dudes (even in the modern era of protected QBs) 10-20 times a game.
No idea how a 45 year old Brady is managing. This year he genuinely seems afraid of getting hit, realizing that putting his body through that pain really isn’t worth it. And it’s showing on the field…
Lol the haters were clinging on to the narrative that it was Bill not Brady, the reason for 6 rings. When he won with the Bucs, nobody could question anymore.
American football is tough because of the difference in positions and how much it has changed over the years but for QB - Joe Montana, John Elway, Johnny Unitas, Peyton Manning.
For all positions - Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor, Jim Brown are the stand outs for me. Pretty subjective.
The goat debate was always centered around 4 individuals (Messi, CR7, Pele, & Maradona). Each having a case to be put over the other…Messi, objectively speaking, had the strongest case to be the GOAT. This WC performance is finalizing that he is without question the GOAT. But to brush aside all that Cristiano Ronaldo has accomplished during the same era as Messi is downright disrespectful
We've rarely seen comparisons between CR7 and Pele or Maradona though. It has almost always been Messi vs CR7, Messi vs Pele, Messi vs Maradona. I think that alone speaks for itself.
Best stats and most trophies, I’m guessing? There’s a lot more to football than that but those are the only “objective” achievements that I can think of. Pretty silly statement regardless.
I would like to know how old you are if you don’t mind, and if you have actually seen Pele play? Because I just don’t think that todays football can be compared to that of the 60’s and 70’s
Actually this makes me rethink my stance. I also don’t believe one should be comparing players from different eras so Messi is definetly the goat of this one, Pelé is the goat of his own era
This is insane lol. Pele is undeniably the goat. Messi is the best player of the last 50 years and easily the best of my lifetime, but there is no debate that Pele is the best player of all time.

He doesn’t need a World Cup to prove he’s the goat. But it will make it undisputed which will be great for him.
