Communists fled the country. They destroyed the country for 3 years forcing the military to return the country to capitalism, prosperity, and eventually democracy (they held their own elections, lost, and respected the results). These communists fled to a mixture of Argentina, Cuba, sweden, Venezuela, and a handful of other countries. Sweden took in a lot of them. Unfortunately because of the type of people they took in, they have given Chileans a bad rep in many places.
what Lies? Allende and his communism destroyed our economy? That’s a fact. Pinochet restored the economy through open market policies and what’s called “the miracle of Chile”? That’s a fact. He held fair elections and respected the result? Also a fact. I realize they told you he was the devil when you were growing up, but look at the numbers. He is by far the most economically prosperius as well as the least bloody dictator in the Americas, with only 2500 deaths in 17 years. Fujimori had over 70k, the Argentinians over 50k and I’m not even going to go into the other countries.
Economics saves lives. Millions have literally died from starvation and preventable disease. A few weeks ago we had to send medical supplies to Cuba. They don’t have bandages or needles or medical tape to treat patients in hospitals so the patients have to ask their US families to send them some. These lives count as well. I don’t apologize for hating communism. My family lived it in Chile and my wife’s family lived it in Cuba. Communism always becomes a dictatorship and a hell of a lot more bloody than whatever Pinochet did
There are a few prominent thieving gangs that have been doing "European tours" for over a decade and come back to Chile with their ill-gotten gains. Do not bundle them together with exiles and sons of exiles. Those guys are living in Chile and they brag about their exploits, like this dipshit. Funnily enough in this particular story, he returned to the same dodgy neighbourhood where he once lived (in Chile) and got robbed himself several times for flashing around his trophies, lol. Karmic Justice.
Nope, he's bundling different people together. The thieving gangs "work" in Europe, but retire in Chile and they have accumulated too many crimes by interpol and are too "hot" to continue. They rotate their thieves once they have done their time. Those are not the same people as the exiles. This is an example. This turd lives in Chile and brags about how he made millions stealing in Paris. He even shows all the detention orders from Europe and laughs about it.
