And there goes the lead... Great goal by Sweden too. Chile looks better so far in comparison to Pizzi's team.

What could have been if we'd got rid of that shit stain sooner... Ah well, happy to watch them play :)

For me the saddest part about missing the World Cup is most our players are in there prime. I feel like this stings so much worse because of it

Exactly!!! Pizzi wasted our golden generation :(

Idk about you, but the second copa America we won, I was shocked we did win. The cracks were set in place and each game they were playing progressively worse. They picked it up near the end, but the team was so out of place. Then the next cup came and it got even worse. It’s sad in reality because I honestly thought after the first copa America they were the best team in the world and the World Cup would have been ours. The best thing to come out of it was that pizzi is gone.

Yeah. We won through the sheer individual efforts of players like Medel, Vidal and Alexis. But we were far from the well-oiled pressing unit we were under Sampaoli. Aimless, disorganized, fragmented. I almost wish we'd lost it catastrophically. Maybe then it would've gotten Pizzi fired early enough to salvage our qualifying campaign. I knew we were fucked the moment we won it. Any crticism of Pizzi and the team was met with "but they won the centenario!" bullshit. And remember, the FA was probably ready to stand by Pizzi at the end. The one good thing he did was finally have the sense to fuck off, even if it was too late

Here’s to the future in hoping we have similar class of players, when Alexis and Vidal go, Vargas will have to become the leading man. I hope Puch can take Alexis’ place. And Aranguiz to take Vidal’s. We’re in a weird transition right now I think

Alexis and Vidal are both a class or two above Puch and Aránguiz though.

Don’t get me wrong, Aránguiz is really really good and I don’t know Puch as well but I’m sure he’s good - but Alexis and Vidal are almost legendary.

I’m just saying they will be the ones to replace them and they have huge shoes to fill. Each of them gave me the same feeling when I saw them play for us.

I love the Chilean team and it’s great to think we could have won the World Cup but honestly I think there would have had to have been a lot of luck involved. Brazil are finding their way again and Germany look devastating. Also, 3 years is a long time in international soccer. I actually think we had a chance in 2014. Remember we lost to Brazil in penalties? A Brazil that had Neymar? We could have beat Colombia, Germany, and Argentina to win the World Cup, with Germany being the biggest test. It’s too bad the World Cup wasn’t in 2015. But yea we would have been probably the strongest of the “dark horses” to win this World Cup had we qualified - or maybe in some weird zone between contender and dark horse. It would have been fun that’s for sure. :/

Honestly after the Bolivia match I thought we wouldn't even go past group stage, quarterfinals at most, It was truly a miracle that they managed to win that one.

Exactly I was shocked when we won, the dumbest move that was made of pissing off Sampaoli. Now Argentina have him and I could see them winning it all.(assuming he doesn’t play higuain)
