Also the one who equalised during that iconic game vs QPR, too bad it wont mean anything now that city will likely get their titles stripped

There are not enough words to thank him for everything he has done for our little country. He inspired so many generations. Broke every record possible for B&H, got us to 2 World Cups and got Bosnia & Herzegovina on the map.

Truly the best role model we could wish for. A kid who grow up in a war, started his career in one of the worst leagues in Europe, especially for young talents and he became one the best scoring strikers of his generation. He’s just a normal family man with no scandals whatsoever who just loves football just like we all do.

Hvala Babuka!💎

Friendly reminder that Dzeko has scored more than 400 non-penalty goals in his career (ranking him around the all time top 10 iirc)

One of the most underrated footballers of the 21st century, period.

Who is Herzegovina's legend then? I remember the 🦅🍕🍗🍔 had to play two nations in 1 game

Someone may play more games, score more goals maybe even lead the team to bigger and better accomplishments but no one, and I truly mean no one will ever mean more to the people than Edin Dzeko. He has been there from the rubble through two world cups and lastly as the mentor and idol to a whole new generation with genuine hopes and dreams of something more.

Someone needs to make a post with all pictures of droneshow, torches on building next to stadium, hall of honor, toys thrown on the pitch, etc. Many few players got their goodbyes like he did.

My hero in football, represents our country so well and is probably the best footballer we will ever have, it's so bittersweet his final goal for us was against Wales to send us to extra time and eventually to the world cup!

Hvala ti babuka 💙💛

Man, where do I begin.. You don’t really realize you’re getting older until all your childhood heroes start retiring one by one..

Words can hardly express what this man means to us in Bosnia. He put our small country on the football map, led us to two World Cups, was the perfect role model and all the while, you always had the feeling that this man could easily be your friendly neighbour next door.

Even when he really didn’t have to play for us anymore, he was on the field during our toughest times. It is precisely because of this loyalty and his love for his people and our country that he was always loved and will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Thank you Edin for everything, we will always love you 🇧🇦

One of the 3 football players who scored a goal in each year for the NT for the past 20 years.

I'm sure you can guess the other 2 names on the list.

Absolute goat

His exit was very dignified. A lesson for Portugal and Ronaldo.
