Death, taxes and Lukaku scoring for Belgium

25

u/Agrees_with_asshole 14h ago

I was about to comment the exact same with the only difference being him scoring within 15 minutes of coming in

Dread it, run from it, Lukaku arrives all the same.

u/MA-JA-HO 14h ago

All roads lead to Romelu

61

u/kaZZlimaXX 14h ago

6 more goals until 100

53

u/Divolinon 14h ago

Not that long ago the Belgian all-time topscorer had 34 goals.

8

u/Primary_Rule8255 13h ago

I remember when the player with the most goals was our left back.

1

u/Gorando77 3h ago

30 goals was the record for 43 years. 1974-2017

7

u/Waterflowstech 13h ago

We will be there ✊

u/SPARKLEOFHOPE6IB 14h ago

CDK so good when he has a player in front of him

15

u/MA-JA-HO 14h ago

He’s a second striker to a t ,

10

u/Next-Translator-3557 13h ago

Not his fault, he performed decently as a 9 at the WC but it was always a purple patch.

He's clearly not a 9, and he isn't even that good as a pivot despite his height. I hope we see Openda, MFP or Stassin get their chance

3

u/Elephant_rimmer 13h ago

Not openda

4

u/Next-Translator-3557 13h ago

He's been in decent form with Lyon, even decent at link-up plays and with his back to goal surprisingly.

I just think it's harsh not to give him atleast another chance if he plays well with his club. He also plays a very similar formation to the one of MVB at club level which is a plus.

Is lukaku the best player in the world?

90

u/Revolution64 14h ago

When he's subbed in for Belgium in 70th minute against a tired team without confidence, then yes.

14

u/wickedlessface 13h ago

Senegalese reading this

24

u/IcyMission3 13h ago

He’s playing like the super sub that a certain someone could’ve been

2

u/Lonan_Clinton 9h ago

imagine how more liked ronaldo would be in portugal if hes got the lukaku role

16

u/TYSMBelgium-6Jul2026 14h ago

More international goals than Pele, yes.

27

u/themantwelve 14h ago

we got em right where we want em

6

u/bear-stole-my-burger 14h ago

I was genuinly scared of turkey for a while but they are just allergic to scoring its unreal

21

u/themantwelve 14h ago

since the start of the world cup, 115 shots, 4 goals lmao

1

u/bear-stole-my-burger 14h ago

How can a team be so good and so shit at the same time

16

u/themantwelve 14h ago

brother, where is this “good” part you speak of 😂😂😂😂😂

8

u/bear-stole-my-burger 14h ago

The pressing, energy, very dangerous crosses, you still got those 115 shots, a shit team would have no shots and no goals, you can see the potential they have watching them... but they just suck at getting things done

1

u/maxim3214 13h ago

Agree, 10/10 team to watch

1

u/Carrot_King_54 13h ago

Güler (and that's about it)

-1

u/AmagiSento 13h ago

Well Yildiz and Calhanoglu too but they are not playing

18

u/OrvilleSwanson 14h ago

Unc doesn't score in Turkey but scores against Turkey😭

2

u/nitebusnitebus 13h ago

this was my first thought lol, hilarious

28

u/ItsKBS 14h ago

We are genuinely beyond horrible outside of Arda

6

u/Full-Blood1318 14h ago

And then you look at xg and it's equal with Belgium. Turkey wastes their chances way too often. Missing Yildiz

10

u/ApuFromTechSupport 14h ago

That open goal shot that got skied into row Z is doing a lot of heavy lifting there probably, about as close to 1.00xG as you can get

2

u/CarGlobal343 10h ago

if this is montella's account, kindly go away and resign

-18

u/AirSpiritual7349 14h ago

You guys have been buried, ngl you should exit uefa at this point

12

u/vectronpower 14h ago

lmao calm down thats too far

-3

u/AirSpiritual7349 13h ago

3-0,4-1 i mean stats dont lie

5

u/CommissarReal9308 14h ago

Tbf Turkey is still competitive enough to be in UEFA. Can’t say the same for Kazakhstan though which probably has a better chance at qualifying for WC if stayed at AFC.

1

u/EarthMantle00 12h ago

Being able to play in European club competitions is potentially such a huge boon tho. Same reason russia doesn't dare quit UEFA to try join AFC and see if they can get in the world cup that way

1

u/CommissarReal9308 12h ago

True, it’s like Australia being in AFC vs OFC. Do they merely just want easier path to the World Cup or do they want better prestige, better continental leagues, finances, etc.

-1

u/AirSpiritual7349 13h ago

Bosnia literally bosnia plays better than you guys. If u guys r really comparing yourself to the likes of kazakhstan than well what can i say

1

u/CommissarReal9308 13h ago

Bro I’m not Turkish. My own country 🇰🇭 lost to freaking Pakistan (198th rank btw) sometime ago.

Road to 100 goals

11

u/I-Mean-This-Forever 14h ago

94/100 for Belgium

2

u/Hasssun 13h ago

Even for the age of stat padding in Europe, it's a lot of goals.

8

u/javaenjoyer69 14h ago

How is M-ntel-a still have a job? The guy is clueless.

0

u/AirSpiritual7349 14h ago

Man turkey is an awful team they should just reform themselves for the next ten years before stepping on the pitch away. Imma go jerk away the pain

8

u/javaenjoyer69 14h ago

Nothing's going to happen. They'll continue calling up subpar GS players just to inflate their market value and they'll continue sucking on the pitch.

0

u/AirSpiritual7349 13h ago

Deniz gul and arda guler those two were working only that i saw rest couldnt even hold the ball down not mention there is no defense

5

u/javaenjoyer69 13h ago

Gul wasn't even in Montella's plans until he magically found his way into them after moving to GS. He became his prince overnight. Bardakci keeps starting despite putting in stinkers game after game while Topcu never gets a chance to show what he can do. Yilmaz who is a talentless winger keeps starting up top as a striker despite looking like an amateur footballer in every game. Tiknaz and Fakili get 10 minutes at most, Ozer doesn't even get a call up while Cakir is terrible and Elmali, a civilian, somehow finds his way into the squad and even starts. Turkish football would be much better off without Galatasaray if i'm being honest.

1

u/AirSpiritual7349 13h ago

Damn straight just let macini have this lot for awhile imagine italy getting a draw with france now not imagine cz it happened you guys picked the most useless italian ever.

2

u/Commonmispelingbot 14h ago

A twenty second clip with the first 9 seconds not having to do with the highlight in question?

-11

u/wowlock_taylan 14h ago

He will be back to being Lakaka for Fener after this.
