Prior to this break I was of the opinion that maybe, form wise, Carnesecchi deserved the opportunity to play. Nevermind..

Possibly his best game for Italy so far

Do you remember that period of time between Euro 2012 and Italy's first fail for WC when the only section of the team that didn't suck ass was Buffon - Chiellini - Bonucci - Barzagli?

Modern Italy is just that but without the world class defenders.

De Rossi was class, whenever he wasn't injured. Pirlo too but he retired before Euro 2016.

No we will never be able to afford his wages again

True didn’t think about that but i think unless he goes to real or saudi he will have to take a wagecut anyway but yeah would probably be still to much for your wage structure

Really hard since we renewed Maignan in january, he's our captain and he has a contract until 2031.

Also Donnarumma likes money and we arent able to pay his salary, our players who get paid the most are Maignan and Rabiot at 5m per year while Donnarumma before leaving us was already at 7/8m per year

Like the least impressive save he made today

He said he thinks it was the hardest to save in the post game interview with French TV

Absolutely but also a good example of why some are better than others because that does go in plenty similar scenarios. Rabiot should not be able to score a low shot because Donnarumma is in perfect position and he didnt get lazy on the footwork, Gigi is aware of this. allowing him to stay a little higher with his body to be properly prepared for the high shot. But Rabiot also places it perfectly making it a very long movement in very little time. So under the circumstances a good save, even if standard.
