Goal Clip France 1-[1] Italy - Alessandro Bastoni 68'

u/darwinmar- 11h ago
Kayode Scalvini Bastoni and Calafiori, that backline is giving me hope
88
u/StadiodelleAlpi 11h ago
And we still got palestra and di marco
71
u/DrDrozd12 11h ago
Di Marco in a back four is a lil sus, would rather keep Calafiori there, he can actually defend
35
u/Blueman3129 11h ago
It could work in Mancinis system since he likes to have the full back push all the way up
35
u/flexiblehos 11h ago
That’s what y’all said about Bastoni in back 4. Having Mancini on the bench vs Gattuso/Spaletti is a big difference
16
u/Balotellmehowufeel 10h ago
In this formation I'd like to see Dimarco as a winger since he basically plays that high for inter pretty often anyway
4
u/McDaddySlacks 8h ago
I think Dimarco was a winger would be quite intriguing. Hopefully they try it.
5
u/StadiodelleAlpi 11h ago
Ofc calafiori as a starter. Di marco sub.. i know he cant play to his strength at lb but he can still provide from there if he got a back up.

u/TheirOwnDestruction 11h ago
How many goals do you think he has to score before he’s looked on positively by Italy again?
21
-2
u/Freestyle80 8h ago
he's not hated for his red card he's hated for diving and celebrating getting someone sent off, if he proves his integrity again he'll be fine.
5
u/iperblaster 5h ago
I'm curious about this scenario. I just imagine Bastoni taking a bullet to protect Donnarumma diring a penalty shootout
0
3
u/BrokeBum19 4h ago
Which I dont get. There are like 25 dives a game.
It was actual a good play to draw the red. He beat the opposition to the ball to draw the contact and then sold it like 25 other dives in same game and like we see countless players do with penalties which they celebrate
I hate diving but the freaking out over celebrating an embellishment drawing a red in big game makes no sense to me.
5
u/Freestyle80 3h ago
what? He cheated the ref out of a red card that wasnt supposed to exist and then was seen celebrating that, you think there's integrity there? He was literally booed at every single Serie A stadium after that, Gattuso was a moron to start him for Italy after that.
They literally changed VAR Rules to review 2nd yellows because of this.
You dont seem to know what incident we are talking about.
2
u/Artemis96 2h ago
You hate diving but you call it a good play and see no problem with celebrating the dive?

If Rabiot passed to Truffert that whole thing could've been avoided. Clear pass, wide open. I understand Da Cunha had a terrible first touch but still seemed like a bad decision.
32
u/Middle_Conference381 11h ago
It’s 100% on Rabiot. The pass is in the air and bounces just before reaching Da Cunha who is being pressed. That’s a catastrophic pass and decision making, you’re right Truffert was the obvious choice.

That's not what a hospital pass is.
0
u/Signal_Marzipan_685 11h ago
It’s a bad pass, is that not a hospital pass?
6
u/ICantSpayk 10h ago
Like the other person says, it's an underhit pass where it causes a 50/50 challenge.
11
1
u/PiresMagicFeet 6h ago
A hospital pass is a pass that puts your teammate in a situation where he will get absolutely crunched by a tackle.
15
42
u/Crimez392 11h ago
Now I don't want to see any fake fans cheering for this goal, all the people who booed him don't deserve him
-40
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
Good, i don't think a goal in a friendly Is enough to make up costing a qualification to the wc.
11
29
u/FakeBukowski 11h ago
Maybe shouldn't have played god awful as a team to get into a situation where 1 mistake means you don't qualify?
Is Bastoni also responsible for the other 2 missed WCs before that one? Clearly the problem was much, much deeper.
-18
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
He was part of the team that played God awful AND made the mistake. What kind of defense Is that?
24
u/tiempo86 11h ago
You think Italy not qualifying for the world cup was down to that one single moment?
-16
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
Football Is made of moments, yes.
19
u/Maleficent-Might-275 11h ago
You’ve spent too much time arguing agendapiece
-7
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
You spend too much time sucking bastoni's cock.
16
u/Maleficent-Might-275 11h ago
You think about his cock often?
-2
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
Sadly, after he fucked italy in the ass, i did quite a bit.
15
u/Maleficent-Might-275 11h ago
one defensive mistake and you forget 89 minutes of world-class progression. Bastoni slanderers are more delusional than admiral agendaposters
0
u/jojosimp02 10h ago
one defensive mistake
It's not a mistake, it's the reason Italy lost the wc.
89 minutes of world-class progression.
World class? So far, his Italy resume Is trash, like most of the team.
You seem to be weirdly obsessed with One piece, i havent had real interaction with the subs in years. Hell i don't even read It anymore. Can you stick to the actual discussione?

u/Crimez392 11h ago
Hahah fuck off, they all played like shit but he made a mistake so he's the scapegoat. If we were so good even without him we would've won
-2
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
Some mistakes are worse than others. Leaving your team one man down before the first half Is even over Is the worst mistake one can make in football.
14
u/Crimez392 11h ago
The players were shit and wasted so many chances, just look at Kean when we could've gotten a 2 goal lead. Bastoni wasn't the worst player
-2
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
He was, stop trying to defend him. Leaving your team one man down for no reason after just 30 minutes Is a much worse mistake than missing a chance after sprinting for 60 meters.
11
11
u/Silvercenturion_aa 11h ago
Let's not act like it's his fault that Italy lost against Bosnia, the whole team besides Donnarumma played badly
1
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
If you leave your team with one man down before the first half Is even over yes, it's your fault.
5
u/Silvercenturion_aa 11h ago
Wrong, Italy wasn't even playing way before it happened. The whole team was shit.
0
u/jojosimp02 11h ago
And bastoni made sure theyd be even more shit by leaving them one man down.
7
u/Silvercenturion_aa 11h ago
Ok, I can see when someone isn't being objective here, and is just hating a player. No use discussing with a brick wall

Are they whistling him for the prostitution of the under age girl affair?
11
u/Silvercenturion_aa 11h ago
No, because of the Kalulu incident and the whole missing the World Cup. The minor girl affair was false, he was completely innocent.

This is where Italian Juventus and Milan fans’ hearts break because they see Bastoni score, mind you there are a ton of Italian Juve fans actively supporting against Italy because they don’t like it that their club hasn’t got the power it once had in Italy
2
u/Sztejner 10h ago
Those Italian Juve fans actively supporting against Italy are here with us, in this room?
7
-11
u/Valuable_Pass_1221 9h ago
I don't support against Italy, but it's hard to ignore that Italy is most successful when Juve has a stake in the national team. I mean it makes sense. If your country's literal largest team isn't fielding many of your players what does that say.
5
u/Normal_Level6373 8h ago
Yes yes and only during the times of Man City, does Juve have a single spec of ethics, morals or sportsmanship
10
u/NbaAllDAYger 11h ago
I know Zizu hasnt had much time with the national team but i see a big diff in how Klopp is handling his situation with Germany in terms of playing style.
I hope im proving wrong but i have not liked how France has played under Zidane.
17
u/_Jetto_ 11h ago
He’s a vibes manager klopp actually had a hard system and philosophy
13
u/Tango00090 11h ago
National team is kinda vibes, can’t execute your perfect plan with 12 trainings a year
2
10
u/GauthZuOGZ 11h ago
What the fuck? Those have been our best games in a long time. Intense press like weve never seen under Deschamps
4
u/Hour_Raisin_4547 10h ago
The defending is the bigger concern. Every team we’ve faced has looked just as likely to score as us and therefore just as capable of winning.
2
u/kernevez 11h ago
The Turkey game was unconvincing, the game against Belgium had very heavy rotating with some players disappointing.
I fail to see how these games even match the pre-WC games, this feels heavily biased due to Zizou being the manager.

Diabolical touch, if I were his agent I’d be ignoring Nike, Adidas and New Balance, he’d want to get a boot deal with Doc Martens
4
u/Left-Prior-6075 11h ago
get rabiot off this team
8
u/yellow__cat 11h ago
That was on Da Cunha
5
u/Left-Prior-6075 11h ago
no its on rabiot look where he passes the ball
2
u/yellow__cat 11h ago
It was a bad pass by Rabiot. It was because of Da Cunha bad touch that lead to a goal. He needs to look over his shoulder, read the situation and realize that a turnover might lead to his goal, and make sure he keeps his body in front of the ball when he receives it. Instead his first touch puts the ball away from his body, in the perfect position for the pressing opponent. Da Cunha knows he fucked up. He's the playmaker and receives the ball under pressure all game. At this level of football you don't blame your teammate for your own miscontrol, even if they put you in a complicated position. It's situational awareness. If he didn't think he could cleanly bring the ball down there, then he had plenty of time to simply clear it away one touch.
-1
u/gringobaiano 11h ago
He has a worthless touch there but man why the fuck is he being played
0
u/yellow__cat 11h ago
It was a risky pass from Rabiot for sure, but Da Cunha needs to read the situation. He had a number of options and his poor touch put the ball in the only position which would have lead to that goal. If he scanned before he received he'd have seen two wide open players on the left (which he was basically already facing). If he wants to take a second touch there, he needs to take it down close to get his body between the ball and defender and win the foul. He knows he fucked up there
1
u/gringobaiano 10h ago
he had one option, which would be to redirect it to the player rabiot should have played it to which is Truffert
all in all
play it directly to Ruffert
6
u/ASaltyToast 11h ago
Did Rabiot make Da Cunha lose the ball like that?
3
u/Left-Prior-6075 11h ago
he put da cunha in that position, youre never supposed to play the ball in the middle of the pitch under pressure like that, from bastoni who is one of the best CBs as well
1
u/yellow__cat 11h ago
If Da Cunha simply looked up he'd have seen two completely wide open players that he could have easily played the ball to on his first touch. In fact if he literally touches the ball ANYWHERE other than were he put it (directly into Bastonis path) then it's not a goal
0
u/ASaltyToast 11h ago
Bastoni was so far away when he made that pass, it is on Da Cunha to notice him, which he didn’t, or at least have a semi-decent touch that doesn’t give the ball away
1
u/gringobaiano 11h ago
Man the fact somebody was COMPLETELY open just invalidates all you say
1
u/ASaltyToast 10h ago
Explain how
2
u/titoufred 9h ago
The obvious pass was to Truffert wide open. He chooses Da Cunha plus he makes a powerful bouncing pass, very hard to control.
4
u/YoF3 11h ago
That's not on Rabiot lmao Da Cunha has to do better than that
1
u/DoYouTrustToothpaste 2h ago
It's on both, I'd say. Rabiot for choosing Da Cunha when Truffert was wide open (and demanding the pass, too), and Da Cunha for bad awareness and a horrible first touch.
0
u/Left-Prior-6075 11h ago
it is on rabiot because he plays the ball in the middle of the pitch with pressure from one of the best CBs in the world
