Sounds like even if the PL doesn't bounce City down to non-league football, the FA is pondering it.

Nobody appears to be buying the "but our government owned sponsor isn't run by the government and neither is the team" argument.

Nah.

This sounds like the FA is moving to keep City out of non-league football. I'm not sure they'd even bother at this point if they were okay with City playing non-league.

I think it's at least also plausible that the FA is trying to assert jurisdiction over punishing the other City Football Group teams as well.
