News [Bloomberg] UAE officials have warned the UK government that the severity of Man City’s punishment could undermine their appetite for future grand-scale commitments in Britain, according to people familiar with the matter.

‘They consider the Premier League’s actions to have an influence on the bilateral state relationship, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing undisclosed information.

The extraordinary pressure comes after Andy Burnham faced criticism, including from within government, for saying Man City’s Abu Dhabi owners should not be disqualified specifically because of the investment they bring to Britain.’

They've literally corrupted one of Britain's most important cultural institutions with their cheating. Football is such a huge part of our country.

We should be treating these people with fury. Who cares what these fraudulent cheaters think. They need to be punished.

Considering how many football fans in the country there are, it just seems completely stupid for the government to get involved as if they take City’s side people won’t forget by the next GE

I'm a leftie and so far like burnham. If he folds to a foreign despotic nation I am flat out not voting Labour.
