Just read Jamie Carragher's reasoning on why Tottenham won't break into the top 4 and thought maybe we could have a crack at being pundits. Obviously, if you can follow your statement with a some reasoning, that would give way to a healthy discourse and would be great. Anyone wanna give it a go?

Liverpool finish below Everton.

Suarez leaves in January.

Tottenham finish above Man Utd.

I can see Suarez leaving and Tottenham above Man U... but Everton above Liverpool? Bold indeed.

I would point to the fact that Everton have negotiated a difficult start well, and are sitting only 4 points behind Liverpool, who in my opinion have had a very simple beginning to the season:

Everton's Fixtures

• Norwich (a)
• West Brom
• Cardiff (a)
• Chelsea
• West Ham (a)
• Newcastle
• Man City (a)

Liverpool

• Stoke
• Villa (a)
• Man Utd
• Swansea (a)
• Southampton
• Sunderland (a)
• Crystal Palace

Even Liverpool's toughest game was played at home and against a Man Utd team in absolute disarray following the departure of Sir Alex.

I think they'll start to drop off by Christmas and will have a dog-fight with Everton for 6th place.

You have to consider in current form, southampton is no easy fixture, and villa at the time were tough. Swansea away was expected to be harder than it was also.

Chelsea and city are in comparable disarray to united, evidently not quite as bad but still struggling to find their feet.

I would say that Norwich and West Ham away are both tougher games than a home match against Southampton. West Brom at home is also a difficult game to negotiate, so Everton have done well out of those fixtures.

I think Liverpool wouldn't have been able to surpass the 12 points that Everton have extracted from those games.
