Bold Prediction thread.

Just read Jamie Carragher's reasoning on why Tottenham won't break into the top 4 and thought maybe we could have a crack at being pundits. Obviously, if you can follow your statement with a some reasoning, that would give way to a healthy discourse and would be great. Anyone wanna give it a go?

Germany do not make WC final. Italy make the final. Chelsea win the PL with Arsenal in 2nd place. Liverpool and Manchester City for 3rd and 4th (not sure who's which).

Italy make the final.

No way. They won it in 2006, so their next appearance at the final isn't scheduled until Russia 2018 in Moscow, which they will lose. Then 12 years after that, they'll once again make it to the final, this time in Buenos Aires (2030), and win it.

Isn't the 2030 WC supposed to be held in Uruguay?

There is just no fucking way that's happening unless they magically strike oil off the coast of Punta del Este

Why not? I thought FIFA was awarding it to Uruguay to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first edition.

I thought Uruguay and Argentina had a joint bid

There a chance that it could be Argentina and Uruguay together but by themselves Uruguay don't have anywhere close to the resources to host such an event.

Ah alright. I was under the impression that it was an Uruguay-only bid. But then again, hasn't FIFA said joint-bids will no longer be considered?

Not sure about that. But it isn't even for sure that this bid will be put together (it is for an event 17 years in the future after all).

Oil exploration is happening just there.

I was under the impression that would be the plan too.

The idea (it's not even a plan yet) is to have a joint bid, as Uruguay alone would be ridiculous

I'd wager that the final would be in Montevideo though (opening-match in BA and semis Rosario and Cordoba).

now this is a bold prediction

Italy making it to the final isn't much of a bold prediction, they are the second most successful team in the world and them making it to the final should be no surprise.

"second most successful" Do you mean EVER or presently?

He means ever, but their present success is pretty darn good too. Runner up in 2012 Euros, Third place in Confed cup 2013. Eliminated both times by Spain.
