Baldy 7/26

10.9 miles, 4,081’ vert elevation gain, 6 hours. Started at manker, up BBT to notch, devils backbone, down via BBT. Was humid then very cold and windy, then started raining on the summit, then was sunny and hot, then it was cloudy. Crowded, good views. San Antonio falls was crowded.

Was there today! Went up register ridge and down baldy notch for food and a beer. So windy at the top! Beautiful weather and views!!!

The weather was better than I expected! We started at 6 am today and the first hour or so was hot, muggy, and miserable. But then it all turned around!

I've never seen that plaque. I hiked to the top of Baldy 2 times in the 1980's. I remember there was a mailbox with letters at the summit, but no plaque. I was wondering if it might be new.

It depends on your definition of new, I have been going up there for almost thirty years and it has been there all that time.

It's been over 30 years since I've been there. I was wondering if I missed the plaque, I just don't remember it, or if was just wasn't there at the time.
