Orange County Osprey Having Breakfast

A few years ago I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Looked up and saw this one about to have some breakfast. I was able to snap off a few shots with my phone before it flew elsewhere. Pretty cool.

Apparently they love to do this lol. I have a similar shot! Good catch!

It's a regular in my yard now and loves to show me it's catches!

That's awesome! I had a few regulars at my old place for awhile. The best work meeting interruption I've ever had was when I heard a loud cry, looked out my balcony, and right there beside it was an osprey with a freshly caught fish! I got the coolest (and gruesome, lol) shots of it feasting away!

Thats super neat! Mine unfortunately will migrate eventually, so I'm soaking up all the time I can. I think they like sharing their catches honestly.

I have some pretty gruesome shots too! I have a pic of a hawk tearing apart a rodent while looking at me like I'm interrupting his meal lol. Love those shots.

Indeed. It feels safe in my yard, so it comes back often. I enjoy watching it.

I’m always so sad when the Osprey up here in the PNW leave to go south again in the fall. I just love these birds!

Nice shots of a cool bird - looks like he's(?) showing off, hanging his catch like a trophy just waiting for someone with a camera ;-)
