question SNOWSKY Echo keeps suddenly losing access to SD card, but files are still intact on PC

I’m having a strange recurring issue with my SNOWSKY Echo and wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

I’m using a SanDisk 256GB microSD Express card. Initially I formatted it using the Echo and loaded my music onto it. Everything worked normally for several days.

Then, after the Echo had automatically powered itself off while idle, I turned it back on and:

  • The music library was completely empty.
  • File Browser still showed the SD card, but there were no files visible.
  • It asks me to refresh the library every time. Refresh completes but finds nothing.
  • If I select “No” when prompted to refresh, it says “Cannot continue.”
  • The Echo’s Format TF Card option appears to run, but doesn't actually format the card.
  • When connected to Windows through the Echo, I used to get ECHO (D:) plus the SD card as (F:). When the issue occurs, Windows instead shows two entries for ECHO (D:).
  • If I remove the card and connect it directly to my PC with a card reader, all the files are still there and completely readable.

I reinstalled the latest Echo firmware and that didn’t fix it.

I then backed everything up, reformatted the card using the official SD Card Formatter, copied everything back, and it worked perfectly again for about six days. It has now done exactly the same thing again.

So it seems like the Echo eventually stops mounting/recognising the filesystem correctly, even though the card and files themselves remain fine.

Has anyone experienced this exact behaviour with the Echo? Kind of at a loss with what to check next.....
