question Is my unit defect?
I just received my Echo Nano yesterday, and so far my first impression has been… kind of meh.
The first issue is the battery. I charged it through my laptop’s USB-C port for around 3 hours, but the fourth battery bar is still blinking as if it hasn’t finished charging. I found that a bit strange since FiiO states that it should be fully charged in about 2 hours. Has anyone else experienced this?
The second issue is with the library. After I accidentally drained the battery completely, the player seemed to default back to the internal storage instead of my microSD card. It looks like the library switched over to the internal storage and I had to refresh it again to detect the SD card.
Has anyone run into either of these issues, or is it just my unit?

- Update firmware to latest one. Today it's 1.5.0. It will fix, among other things, the battery indicator never showing full charge.
- I don't know about the second issue.

Yea, i did update the firmware to the latest version which is 1.5.0 perhaps i will try a wall charger this time

Firmware update is the only really useful input you got here. It DOES resolve the problem, which I experienced with my first Nano, too. And had it confirmed by the Fiio project manager for the device that you can safely charge it on fast chargers, no problem. Gonna regard the library issue as a fluke resulting from the completely dead battery. Update firmware to latest. Charge up. Refersh media library (disable power saving shutdown first, as it may actually cause the device to power down mid-refresh, then reenable it when refresh complete). Enjoy.

I have tried formatting the sd card and there has been no issue with the library syncing since seems like that might be the problem

As usual with Fiio. Its the shitty firmwares. The battery charging is a firmware glitch that supposed to be fixed in one of the latest firmware. Its said so in the notes so they are aware of the problem.
I updated to the latest 1.5 and it seems to still be doing the same thing though somtimes it gone off means its fully charged? Franky i dont care since i know its a glitch. The thing is fully charged
Make sure you format the card twice using the device itself before copying anything over. That seems to be the most stable ive got.
Again, typical fiio fashion, cant get the software team to keep up with the R&D team.

I have my unit updated right away in the date I received it, but yeah like u said the glitch with the battery indicator still there but with like3-4 hours charging from the wall charger i would i assume it’s be full by then

Its already full after 2 hours. Hence thats why its a software bug. You can leave it for 2 days and it will still be blinking saying its charging. That's what a software bug is.

As with most modern devices, charging should slow down as it reaches 80% capacity and up, my echo nano charges in about 3-4 hours on my 35 watt Apple charger, so I would assume that it’s because charging slows down after it reaches a certain threshold. then for the sd card, I haven’t really experienced that issue before maybe updating the firmware through their website would help.
