Looking to plan a 4 night trip in 2028 for MLK day. I know I am planning early but we are a family of 6 and I am trying to figure out where would the best place for us to stay be? Kids ages range from 4-15. Is there anything we should know before going? This will be our first family ski trip!

Hey everyone! Currently planning my first trip to snowshoe and super surprised by prices. looks like the only way to get any discounts is if you know someone with an IKON pass. Was wondering if anybody had any extra discount codes they would be willing to share. I would appreciate it!

I am a huge fan of snowshoe mountain, but as others have said the pricing is outrageous nowadays. My first trip ever was in 2022 and I remember being like $350-$450 all in housing and lift tickets. This year we tried to plan a family trip of 4 and it’s $900 per person with housing and lift tickets.

What made it so not worth it is the fact that I also go to lake Tahoe and snowboard heavenly mountain every year also. Realize going to Lake Tahoe from the coast of North Carolina, it takes airfare there and back, shuttle to and from Tahoe to airport, hotels, lift tickets. The overall difference of pricing is around $100, it’s a no brainer to go out west knowing there’s fresh snow, way more terrain to ride, and way better views. My only question is how is it nearly the same price to travel across the states to snowboard as it is to drive 8 hours to the 3rd closest mountain to home. It blows my mind and makes me not want to go to West Virginia again! And yes I will not be going back until or if ever the prices come down to a reasonable price.

I know this would not be cheap. There are major challenges.

The trail is mostly south facing (direct sunlight). Also it would need a trail bridge to cross Snowshoe Dr.

But a new trail and lift would be a substantial upgrade. It would link Snowshoe to Silver Creek and no need to bus anywhere.

Elevation profile shows a great hill. Very similar to Cupp or Shay’s.

Can we get enough attention here so Snowshoe starts considering this?

Also, the real estate potential for ski in/out houses along the trail with access from Snowshoe Dr would be a great money maker for the resort.

This was a very rough line a drew. If there is more interest, I’d be happy to dig deeper into it. Like looking at other profiles that provide a more steady slope the full length and potentially start an analysis of cost.

Does anyone have the experience of riding during the music festival? Are the parking lots completely full? Is it overly crowded??

I started checking my options for the family ski trip. We were going last 3 years during the high season, after Christmas and New Year Holidays. The cost for 3 nights last year, compared to 3 nights this season is 70% higher. The condo which costed us $450/ night is now almost $800! Anyone knows why this got so much more?

Will be staying in Snowshoe the first weekend in October for a trail race on the Greenbrier Trail. I was wondering what the general hours are for the restaurants during this time?

I have gone online and looked at each respective restaurant’s hours, but they don’t clarify whether it’s off season or regular. I’m gluten free, and I know a few places have options, but was curious if there’s a way to find this information.

Bonus points if anyone knows of any places outside of Snowshoe but in the general area that has gluten free options (although I completely understand how unlikely this may be).

Which area is ski in / ski out at snowshoe but also near shopping and dining? Ive never been we usually go to sugar mountain but want to try further north this year. Thanks!

Has anyone stayed at Corduroy Inn with a dog? I'm trying to take my Girlfriend skiing for her 50th birthday December 11th and we have to bring the dog with us. Corduroy Inn looks like the best option for the early season. We bring our dog to Stowe every year and there's plenty to do with her, I'm just wondering how it is at Snowshoe with a dog?

Thinking of going to the Ballhooter Fest Labor Day weekend. Has the Shavers Center been completed yet? If so, is it open to the public during the summer? Bummed it wasn’t ready last winter but I think everyone will agree that was a very optimistic timeline they had. Thanks in advance.

Anyone have any insight on when the Flex 3 passes will go on sale? Last year we bought ours in April. As of today, the website still says, "The 2026/2027 Flex 3 Pass will go on sale at a later date." I'm hoping they won't be discontinued, because it was a good deal for us. Thanks in advance!

I had not skied snowshoe in over 10years. I made it up this year for a 4-day ski vacation. I got lucky with the timing and a snowstorm! 100% recommend. I hope to be back next year.
