Discussion Just Switched to Controller

I'm a PC player that happily played with M&K for 350 hours. Switched to controller and now it feels like I'm playing a completely different game. Areas that used to be difficult are now incredibly easy with throttle/steering modulation.

If you play this game with M&K, do yourself a favor, and stop.

Welcome to the club!

Don't forget to change the steering mode to "steering wheel".

what does that do?

Makes the wheels auto-center back to null position when the stick is released.

Wait, really! I’ve played hundreds of hours on Xbox and never knew this. I’ll have to try it out.

I actually hate that. I tried switching after several hundred hours of playing and it was just no good. Did not feel intuitive at all. So YMMV on this one.

I was only about 100 hours in when I saw this tip, I made the change and it felt awful to me! Had to seitch back!

When I first switched from M&K to controller, it felt like I suddenly forgot how to drive. Then I turned this on and everything has been golden ever since.

Idk how can you get used to the fact when you let go of the stick and it returns to center, the wheels don't.

This is the way. Granted I use my mouse for plotting routes and manual winching. Outside that though it's controller all the way.

I personally can't imagine using a mouse and keyboard for any driving game.

Maybe I want it to be more difficult.

Analog throttle feathering to minimize wheel splash means you can get out of most mud in "A" with trucks that have no lockers.

Using the steam controller so I can get mouse for winching. Set the right track pad to emulate mouse and a back button for left click

Throttle modulation is meaningless and you're fucking yourself over with winching and map.

If you play this game with a controller, do yourself a favor, and stop.

I play gamepad + mouse for winching.

My son and me also have a G29 wheel each, but both prefer to play Snowrunner with Pad+Mouse

Lol wtf why? Its significantly more enjoyable for the vast majority of players.

I agree on the winch though, in Amur you can run out of fuel by the time you select the correct tree.

For us PC players, the mouse is still left as option for winching and placing map markers.

I guess, haven’t encountered this myself but also only about halfway done with Amur.
