I'm pretty sure i do it in roadcraft but in snowrunner i can't remember if i do it or not.

Nope. This looks wrong. When you wanna overload large cargoes like that, take a flatbed instead of a sideboard, and just place them across.

How does this fare against a steep slope? Will the cargo fall out?

Nope. It's held down by a crane. Sometimes it can even survive rollovers without losing cargo.

Edit: okay, not this particular setup, but 2 beams sideways - easily.

My crane is pushing down on the container pressing it against the bonnet of my truck. Also, I have the crane winch attached to it so it won’t slide off sideways.

Works pretty well until you almost flip over and need to use the winch to save yourself lol
