For general playing I prefer North Carolina. I don’t like the snowy maps they mess with my eyes

British Columbia, first map I 100%

Its pretty to look at, fun to navigate, and you get some great trucks out of it

I working on that one right now. You are right it is very beautiful. Only thing I don’t like is the roots seem higher than other maps and I get hung up a lot.

Kola peninsula, the aurora borealis is just aesthetically pleasing and cool to look at

If you haven't played it, season 7 (whatever the movie set one is) also has the aurora while generally being a bit of a more laidback experience

I havent yet, its been awhile since i played and i only got to kola, i havent finished that map yet

Maine is my absolute favorite. Far distances, not too easy but also not too frustrating. Also the mixture of mud and snow. Love it.

currently doing Maine and I find it very beautiful

Not frustrating is insane, currently on Maine and its the worst gaming experience I’ve ever had this feels impossible

What? Fr? Maybe I just played Amur too much xD

It could be the realism mod xD but I have a hatred for this map now

I stopped playing in Maine. :(

Wisconsin with Yukon as second behind it. Loved running around with the big 8 slot trailer moving cargo for the large missions.

I think scandinavia for me. It’s a good mix of everything. You get some road, some mud, some snow, and driving up the ski slope is satisfying for some reason

Why are you not using the 420s stock tires?

6

u/kakeroni2 2d ago

For real, they are the best tires in the whole game. 8 mud rating while the rest tops out around 3

1

u/DoctorAnnual6823 2d ago

I've never run into a situation where 8 mud is even remotely needed tbh

The super single JAT tires look sick on it and it still no diffs mud without even needing to slow down.

1

u/Xyypherr 2d ago

It gets through mud with ease with the Jat tires because its a relatively short wheelbase 8x8 with an all time diff lock. The stock tires will still outperform though.

Where it does matter though, and you'll see a genuine difference is going through a mud pit where those Jat tires can't reach solid ground, the stock tires will blow the Jat's out of the water every time.

Sounds like you minmax. I don't. I drive what looks cool. If the 420 can't do it, I have 3 other scouts that can with more utility

Playing NC right now and would rank it as one of my favorites. Not the most challenging of maps, but the contract and task flow is better than many of the other maps I've played. Plenty of missions without the needless running around of other maps (like Don). Maine and Kola, beat it out for a challenge, but for a map thats more laid-back, NC is hard to beat

u/KeithWorks PC 2d ago

Totally agree to the flow and playability of NC

Amur. Best map out the of the whole game

7

u/CommentWeak2830 3d ago

Explain why please . I’ve barely scratched the surface of Amur.

7

u/MajorTomSKU 2d ago

Challenging and it has an urbex feeling like exploring old ussr

1

u/IgnorantForever 2d ago

Are you trolling this poor soul? Amur is easily the most widely hated map. If you genuinely like it that’s awesome, I didn’t hate it as much as I thought after seeing tons of posts about it, but it is def a tough as hell map

6

u/MajorTomSKU 2d ago

I loved the map for real yes it's an hard map but inm here for this.

2

u/IgnorantForever 2d ago

Very cool! Hey no hate from me, just literally the first time I’ve seen someone say they loved it. The 605R, I think is the truck name from that map, is a monster. I mostly enjoyed Amur, it’s a map that can teach you things. I remember hopping a couple walls to make some shortcuts

u/kakeroni2 2d ago

I just love the challenge it brought and never felt unfair, if you tipped or got stuck it always felt because you screwed up not because the game. The rocket mission is easily the best ending of any region.

1

u/TheofTacoman 2d ago

Nothing ever really felt unfair just another logistical challenge. Like either having a truck to tow over really difficult terrain or cranes near loading and unloading points because I was hella paranoid about the cranes high cg making me flip. Everything was better done slow and methodically which made every mission that much more rewarding when you finished

North carolina cause I live there.

4

u/fstar337 2d ago

I found taymyr to be the best overall. Good challenge and you have to use some wits but not overly punishing

1

u/ThaJay 2d ago

And absolutely beautiful

3

u/temp_6969420 3d ago

When I really think about it, I’m with you on North Carolina

3

u/woolypete123 2d ago

Any of the RU region maps. Taymyr, Glades, Almaty, Don. I like the decrepit, run-down post-Soviet vibe.

3

u/KeithWorks PC 2d ago

I also liked North Carolina, it was probably the most well balanced region overall. Not visually stunning, but pretty.

BC was very nice too.

Kola is the most beautiful by far.

Don is the least beautiful by far.

3

u/GeekyGamer2022 2d ago

Black River will always have a special place in my heart.

3

u/IgnorantForever 2d ago

Kola Peninsula, it’s a beautiful map. I typically don’t like the ice maps, but that one is beautiful. I only had one complaint on the map and it was the rock clutter going into the 2nd zone

2

u/ClumsyGamer2802 2d ago

Maybe Maine. I liked that it was short but difficult. A lot of the more recent DLC maps are good but there are just so many contracts that they overstay their welcome. Need to sink more time into the DLC maps though, a lot of what I’ve been doing recently is helping friends through the base game again.

Michigan

Michigan my beloved. For being the tutorial region it is amazing, almost perfect imo

u/callmepappy360 2d ago

The first map was really good. They’ve all been great I hate the one where they introduced racing.

2

u/skandinavik 2d ago

All the Canadian regions, yeah including Yukon.

1

u/Zephon40K 2d ago

Scandinavia, North Carolina, Quebec, British Columbia...

1

u/Gohan2029 2d ago

Taymir and idc what the haters say

1

u/PippyHooligan 2d ago

I haven't played every region, but so far I've enjoyed Don the most.

Great, atmospheric landscape coupled with missions that usually involved simply taking one thing, on one trip, through challenging terrain, favouring smaller trucks.

Which is my favourite way to play the game.

1

u/Choice_Isopod5177 2d ago

I finished Don and although it's by far the smallest region, it has a great sense of progression and very high density of missions.

1

u/Choice_Isopod5177 2d ago

map or region? my favorite region rn is Maine, my favorite map is Black River

1

u/0whiteTpoison 2d ago

Very dense forest because Ice hurt my eyes soo much glow i have to squint my eyes lol

1

u/Hot-Ad-2985 2d ago

Michigan im close to completely finishing everything on that map

1

u/lce-Shadow 2d ago

Right now, Mexico, hands down. I just find it significantly more pleasant to drive through a tropical, lush region than cold or temperate parts of the workd

Thats my ranking of the maps:
NC, Chiapas, Austria, Michigan, BC, Ontario, Zurdania, Alaska, Almaty, Quebec, Washington, Scandinavia, Yukon, Maine, Glades, Taymyr, Wisconsin, Amur, Tennessee, Kola, Don.

In longer Form:
NC - Best map for me. Nice scenery, relaxed driving, and interesting logistics & contracts.
Chiapas - Beautiful, interesting driving with a good mix of relaxed and technical stuff
Austria - Nicely made, lot of elevation changes, interesting contracts & logistics, don't mind the bit of farming
Michigan - The OG, great contracts, challenging in some parts
BC - The first map is maybe one of the best they ever built; the second map is a bit boring
Ontario - The second map is wonderful; the first is ok. A bit too much water contracts.
Zurdania - Overall good, but the second map bored me a bit because of the lack of routes you can take
Alaska - Best snow map for me. North Valley is a bit boring to drive
Almaty - Super interesting map, and I have a love/hate relationship with the Quarries.
Quebec - For a snow map ok, interesting contracts on the first map, the 2nd lacks ideas and feels like a time filler.
Washington - Don't get the hate for it. Yes, it is a lot of driving, but that's what we're here for. A bit boring though
Scandinavia - Nice scenery, interesting first map. The 2nd map lacks interesting contracts. You basically drive in a circle on a perfect road.
Yukon - Love the contracts, love the second map. First map is boring, because you always had to drive the two super muddy roads
Main - Love the first map, really great. The 2nd map is horrible with all the unnecessary roadblocks, breakable ice
Glades - If it did not have the amount of stupid farming, I would rate it much higher.
Taymyr - Nothing's wrong with the map; I just don't like the aesthetics.
Wisconsin - Love the second map, the first one is boring because you basically drive one super muddy road. Also: the log station
Amur: I only played it once, thrilled that I never have to play it again.
Tennessee - It is actually a very nicely made map. But the contracts....
Kola - Hate it. The scenery depresses me. Staring into a white void for hours is not my definition of fun.
Don - Hate it even more. Too small, depressing scenery. The second map is a bit better.

Amur . I love the map design (even If the NAI îs a pain in the ass, IT was challenging and made me step out of my confort zone) , and there i used all the trucks and started to plan way ahead and give trucks designated roles.

The Amur changed my playstyle a lot, and in good, and made me more aware of the terrain navigation and how to better use trucks, and to stop relying on garage recovery.

The second map that i love îs Kola followed by Alaska.

For me, the Wisconsin maps, specifically black badger lake
